- Julie| 1 replyYes it was from verizon - offering upgrades for contract renewal - phone with 2yr renewal - minutes/etc for 1yr renewal if you don't want a phone or a long contract......good luck all......
- Caller: Verizon Wireless
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Deanna replies to JulieBe careful, this might be a scam. They were not willing to give me info without me first offering up my personal details.
- JeffHi, I have received 4 calls from this number in the last week. Missed all the calls but the last two. The telemarkerer/scammer immediately asks for your mobile number, that THEY JUST CALLED. When I call there is a message that says "Thank you for you interest in Verizon Wireless. We want you to be able to complete the order you started with us." When I talk to someone they immediately ask for my wireless number. I spoke with a VW rep and they said that it was definitely not truly Verizon calling because of the number.
- Caller: "Verizon Wireless"
- Call type: Telemarketer
- NattyI've miss their calls for weeks now and finally called the number back tonight. It was a Verizon rep that wanted me to upgrade my phone over the phone. I asked if I could do this in the store and they said no, it could only be over the phone...They would charge my account. I got the guys name and number. I am pretty sure it's a scam.
- Caller: Verizon Wireless Promotion Center
- Lee| 1 replyI'm glad to know it's Verizon. They've called me EVERY DAY for the past 2 weeks or so and fail to leave a message each time. They've called as early as 8am and as late as 9:30 pm. I'm not even eligible for a phone upgrade yet. You'd think that if the phone call is important enough to call every day, then it's important enough to leave a message! I'm wondering if they'll ever stop calling!!
- Jeff replies to LeeIt's not Verizon. It's a scam.
- MelissaThey called me this morning at 6:52am. Jerks.
- joecalled twice in past week
- FrohboyThey called me at 6:20 am...son of a......if they call again I am giving them a piece of my mind, and it's kinda disconcerting to see that some say it's a scam.
- Philip| 1 replyI also received such a phone call re. a promotional offer.
I just called verizon (the regular customer number - 1-800-922-0204), and it is NOT a scam.- Caller: Verizon
- Ryan replies to PhilipI just called Verizon Wireless at their normal customer service number and the representative told me that it was NOT a valid Verizon call center number. They put the number on a block list for me and said they would begin an investigation, but most of the time these phone scammers are good at hiding via automation behind toll free numbers.
This is not a valid Verizon Wireless number. They cannot verify any information. Even after they asked for my cell # and name, they asked me to spell my name after they said they were pulling up my account by my number.
Complete scam. - mrswellsTwo calls in two days from this number. No messages and since they call during the work day I haven't answered. I HATE unsolisted calls!
- FrankI just contacted Verizon and they said it was a CERTIFIED number that does make calls from a call center in regards to promotional offers. It is NOT a scam.
- Caller: Verizon Wirelss
- Call type: Telemarketer
- TerryIt's not a scam. I did not have to give them any information. They had it all already. After completing the call I contacted Verizon just to make sure. Everything Frank said was correct. They verified that is was an outside call center that handles promotional calls for their company.
- Caller: Verizon

- blahnice try frank
- mynameI've been getting called by this number everyday. The other day I answered and there was no one on the line. Today I answered it and it was some bs about upgrading my phone. According to the telemarketer, it is a promotion for people close to being eligible for upgrading their phone. I think I have a few months until I upgrade, so I was a bit skeptical. Anyway, they already had my name and mailing address and I just needed to confirm they are right. They try to give you a bunch of crap to go with your phone. I don't really get how it's a scam, because if it is, it's not a very good one. They say they will charge the phone onto your account and that it will show up on the next bill; I for one don't save my account information onto my profile (so, if they got all this info to scam you it means Verizon has crap security measures). They send you the phone with the info on how to program your numbers and what to do for the rebate. I went through it all just for amusement (if it's a scam and you get charged for a $60 phone it will be quite easy to get the bank to clear that) and afterward called Verizon just to check on whether I was scammed. The woman on the phone seemed annoyed, as if a ton of people are calling in and asking about this; duh Verizon. People hate this crap and it seems like you're talking to someone else. Verizon isn't going to call you about this crap, that's what the telemarketers are for; telemarketers are just reading crap off a screen that Verizon gives them. It seems fairly legit to me. If not, big deal. Change your phone number.

- MikeIt's legit. I ordered a new phone and then looked up the number and freaked out when I saw it wasn't on Verizon's website. I called and they said it was an outside call center. I then sent an email and did the customer service chat and the customer service guy and asked whether the number was legit and not a scam. He said that according to my account I was eligible for an early upgrade at a reduced price. I said that's what the lady on the phone told me and that I ordered a new phone for $69 with a $50 rebate. He looked up that information and confirmed it. He said the phone will ship in 3-5 days and I'll receive an email with the tracking info. The charge will show up on the next bill. So, it looks like this isn't a scam. The fact that the number shows up with not just Verizon is because an outside company is handling the calls and processing the orders.

- hannah| 1 replyHave called my business number multiple times the past month and no one is ever on the other end of the line when I answer, it's a machine. When I called back they said it was for a promo offer and would take 30 days to get my phone number off my list.
