Presumably, they call any number matching the name of the person(s) they hope to find - The "extension" is probably actually a case number. - CaseyGot a phone call from "Investigator Coleman" wanting to know if I knew somebody named "Sotelo" Wanted me to call 1-877-294-6376 ext 148
- Caller: Windsor group
- VancouverWashingtonInvestigator Gonzales called for my mother, told her I was her son, she said my brother's name, and I corrected her. ASked to be called back at this same number with ext. 149. She gave me some long case number (2007815803) and that was it. I did hear other "Investigators" talking in the background though.
- Caller: Windsor Group
- wonderingMy mom got a call from Investigator Gonzales 877-294-6376 ext 149. Is it a scam or are they really investigating someone?
- Caller: Windsor group
- ronAn " Investigator Richardson " called my aunt with a long case number about which she was to immediately call back. Texas has a lot of scam collection agencies and stock fraud boiler rooms. This may be one. To be safe, everyone should report the phone number to their local telco.
- mikem| 3 repliesReceived a voice mail on my cell phone originating from 214 647-3500. The caller identified herself "Investigator Stephanie Stanley". She said she was calling from Dallas County, Dallas Texas (duh) and needed to speak with me urgently regarding a "very important case" that was going to be filed against me in Los Angeles County court the following day. (I don't even live in Los Angeles County) She left a callback number of 877 294-6376 x154. When I called back, she said legal action was pending against me or someone sharing my name regarding a defaulted payment on a 2003 Mitsubishi vehicle. I told her that I was not this person and did not own a Mitsubishi vehicle. Fine, she said but to prove this and eliminate myself from suspicion, she asked me for the last four digits of my social security number. I refused to give this information to her. She said 'We already have a great deal of personal information at our disposal about you, so I recommend that you give us the number in order to aid us in our investigation." At that point, (as if to prove this) she read me back my mailing address. Then she said "Well, can you give me just the last two digits of your social?" That would be no, I told her. "OK" she said, "Tell me this much. Are the last two digits of your social security number 32?" I told her no, although this was none of her business either. She then told me I was now eliminated from suspicion. She also said somebody might be contacting me for "follow up information". Whatever...sounds like a phone scam to me. Be interesting to know if this was legit.

- stephanie replies to mikemYes Mr Mike, this is legit. Look the company up.
- Doesn't Matter replies to NA| 1 replyThat term is Theft By Conversion. Google the Term and get the true concept of what it is all about.
- notmybusiness| 2 repliesInvestigator Banister x1147 wants a call back about somebody today. Do I know them? Don't know Mr. Banister and maybe I know who they called about, maybe I don't. I don't have to get involved. This is not the law. They have no right to call and if they do again I guess I can report them to the Attorney General's office for harrassment by a collection agency which is probably what they are - one of the tacky ones.
- Chelle| 1 reply"Investigator" McNatt called looking to speak with me, used my maiden name, which I haven't used in 11 years. Asked to be called back at 1-877-294-6376 ext 1136. Left message stated case against ME had been filed on his desk. Before talking with him I called and asked the receptionist the name of the company, which she provided, and when I asked what type of company it was, she stated she didn't have to provide me with that information and I needed to speak with the "investigator" handling my case. I advised her I would not speak with anyone if she could not disclose that simple information to me and she hung up on me, her name was Tiffany. I called back and hour later and spoke with "Investigator" McNatt, who would not give me his first name. He asked for my name, and I only provided him with the case number he left. He only told me they were an Investigation company. He asked me if I knew an Evan Leaphart. I advised him no. He stated they were investigating Mr. Leaphart, but since I didn't know him he would make note. He asked what number they called and my name. Well, they should have known that information because they called it an hour earlier, and it should have been in the "case file".
I looked the company up for an hour. Greg Brantley is a Certified Civil Process Server with Dallas County....http://www.texasprocesswatch.com/ccpsat/Dallas.html
I still think this company might be shady! Be careful! Why did he say the case was against me, then say they were looking for someone else with a completely different name?!?!?!?!?!
Better Business Bureau has them listed as Windsor Equity Group- Caller: Windsor Group
- SisterSaraIs reporting all these unwanted calls going to result in ending them? On a scale of one to ten my complaint for unwanted cell and home calls like these is about a 5 right now but if it's going to get worse (and it sounds like alot of you are getting them ALOT) then I'd like to know if reporting is going to result in their termination. Thanks to any and all who can tell me. I've listed one of the unwanteds in this post. I got it on my cell and I SO don't want that happening!
- None your business replies to SanAntonioJoeI find it funny that you people want to sit here and post things that you know nothing about. the extension is probably the case number... lmao. that's too funny. if only it were that simple. if you get a call from these guys, you may want to answer. It isn't a joke, and it isn't spam.
- ChuckRecieved a phone call from a Investigator Coleman requesting that I call back 877-294-6376 ext 1112. The caller ID shows it to be the Winsor Group. She wanted to know if I knew a Victoria or Maria Rivera. Never heard of them. I never called back. I googled the phone number and got this information. Beware of these scam punks.

I talked to a law enforcement officer friend and was informed that this is not procedural to state that the are an investigator without providing the agency, etc. This is some kind of scam.
