- Robert"Golden Gate Financial Services" -- fraudulent telemarketing company located in Montreal, QUEBEC, CANADA. They took $374 from my grandmother's checking account. They already had her checking account information somehow and somehow already knew that she was scammed before. They promised to recuperate her lost money. They never did anything, never even sent anything in the mail and they refuse to refund her. I tricked the person who answered the tollfree customer service number into telling me that the owners were David Taylor and David Tietolman. These people should be put behind bars for scamming little old ladies on very fixed incomes.

- Carl C| 2 repliesMy 92 yr. old mother just experienced the same con as "Robert". The difference is it is now National Consumer Advisory Services. They issued an electronic draft on her bank acct. for $329.00, leaving her basically penniless. Needless to say, I called the 1-877-294-9103 number and talked to (wait for it...) none other than David Taylor (again, see Robert's complaint). David was exceedingly cordial, and assured me she would be issued a full refund. He was even willing to send it out by Fedex Overnight. My "BS" alarm told me this was too easy, and it was. Soon, David told me they would not be sending a check, however they were sending a money order to her, again by Fedex. The next day, David even called me to apologize that his "billing department" had failed to get the money order out and that he would personally see to it. He then asked that I calll him the next day to verify delivery had been made so he could close the issue. Guess what? When I called him yesterday (day 3), all I get is a recording that "customer service is busy helping other clients".
Now it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know this is a con job. However, it seems like David spent an inordinate amount of time trying to convince me it was not. Silly man, or maybe delusional. Either way, I'm contacting the AG for both New York, Connecticut, and Oklahoma. Will it do any good? Probably not, but I'll feel better. Oh yeah, and I intend to fill up their "customer service" phone queue. Will that help? Again probably not, but it will make me feel better.
By the way, there is a second number associated with this possible fraud. It is 1-860-516-8512 and rads as from Bristol, CT. BE AWARE and BEWARE!- Caller: National Consumer Advisory Services

Receiving no "mail order" refund (as expected), I proceed to fill up the customer service queue with messages to call. After a week of this I get a call on July 27 from a Tony Carson 1-877-226-4676 apologizing and explaining that Dave Taylor was never authorized to make refund arrangements as he did (have they burnt Dave at the stake?). Tony then asssured me a normal check would be sent to my mother via USPS and to give it seven days.
Today is the seventh day, August 3, and guess what? No check. So I call the 877-226-4676 and hang on until someone live answers. This time it is Todd Marshall (because Tony is "on vacation"). Ok Todd, can you tell me the status of the refund, I ask. He checks and it sems there is no record of it. However, he does see a refund issued back in May for $144 . I'm thinking, "thank you Todd", as this was, what I thought, a separate scam. Turns out it is connected and this "customer service" may be the source of the connection.
I told Todd I would give him an hour or so to research. I'm not expecting big things here, but little by little, I am getting closer to the truth. BE AWARE and BEWARE! - scThis company continues to exploit seniors. They were able to con my 81 year old mother and obtain her personal information. They withdrew $164.50 from her bank account.
