The caller id showed 272-770-7693 and Scranton, PA. And interestingly, a call from 724-200-9363 Enon Valley, PA is the only call on my recent calls list, which came in immediately before this call. It was a robocall, with a nice sounding female voice saying "Hi, this is Haley Dunn, from the resolution department at Atlas Tax Group Associates. An urgent alert just came across my desk regarding your balances owed, missed filings, or past due returns. With new relief programs now in effect, including the offer in compromise program as well as other hardship options, loans, and same day waivers, but these opportunities are time sensitive and deadlines are quickly approaching. I want to make sure you have the chance to officially check and validate any issues before it's too late..." etc. Callback number is 877-301-3282. Bottom line is that this is a scam. No private company would have my tax records unless I was already a customer of theirs, which would be difficult to do since it doesn't appear that there is even an actual company that goes by the "Atlas Tax Group Associates" name, not to mention that I haven't even worked with a tax professional since about 2008. In addition, I'm not behind on my taxes, so they're just calling everyone from whatever telephone list that they bought (or stole) in hopes of finding gullible people to prey on.
