- J29almostsold| 30 repliesReceived a voice mail from lady named Debbie from the "Prize Notification Department" at 424-239-0032. She asked that I call her back on 877-306-9110 for a Holiday Dream Giveaway and that there was a deadline to claim one of the 4 prizes: new flat screen TV, celebrity vacation, $2500, or car or cash value of car. She requested I call her back to confirm my appointment if I was to go either at 6 or 8 pm on Thursday or Friday. Both my spouse and I have to be there when the drawing is done. She verified that I was over 25, married, combined income over $50,000, and had a major credit card that was not a debit card. She instructed me to verify this again when I appear for the drawing. I pressed to find out the company name that the prize was associated with and she said it was Royal Entertainment, a company out of California that is trying to spread their name. She said it was not a timeshare and I wouldn't be asked to do anything other than spread the "good word" about this company. The address she gave me is 196 Collier Drive, Ste. B-2, Sevierville, TN. The funny thing is that there is a company at this address called Royal Resorts International that is a newly accredited business with the Better Business Bureau. I won't be making the appointment thanks to all of the comments I read about these new types of scams. Thank you so much!

- Den.. replies to J29almostsoldI received the same msg. from Debbie, returned the call (877-306-9110) set up appointment and was told needed to have Driver License, major Credit Card and a Bank Check w/name & address, all for identification. Called the Severville Police Dept, said they have received a number of calls reporting the same scam, but cannot do anything until an actual crime has been comitted.. Thanks for your Posting
- WisernowAlso got a call from "Debbie". It is Royal Resorts International. They are in Cancun. Definitely skip these people. These people are real con artists. Here's a link that also includes the local number: http://www.merchantcircle.com/business/Royal. ... al.865-453-8948 The reviews are all negative. They promise everything and deliver nothing. The only resort anyone should participate in down in Cancun is Moon Palace. They have a different deal than timeshare and it is beyond incredible

- JenReceived a call from 219-944-4410 and didn't answer. The woman left a message and said her name was Debbie and that y'all(that is the word she used) had someone that was a contest finalist in some contest and that we needed to verify some information and to call back the 877 #. Neither myself or my husband entered any contest and I sure wouldn't use my cell#. Scam!!!!!
- RebeccaWe received a phone call from Debbie also saying that our name had been drawn for a "sweepstakes". She asked me to verify that I was married, had a combined income of $50,000, had a credit card and was between the ages of 25 - 75. She told me that I had to set up an appointment and come to 196 Collier Drive, suite B2, Sevierville on either Thursday or Friday at 5:00 or 8:00 in order to receive our "prize". Our "prize" was either a flat-screen TV, a vacation, cash or a car (or cash equivalent. I asked her where our name had been drawn from and she said that they represent a few companies and that it might have been a retailer such as Target or Walmart. As soon as I gave her the time we wanted to meet, she would give us a verification number. I felt sceptically about it, so I told her I would call her back then looked up the phone number and address and found all of this information. What a SCAM!!!!!! I am tempted to call her back and tell her we are now unemployed and are having to declare bankruptcy, therefore no credit cards or money, just to see what she says!!!!!

- TammyURG!! My mother received the call and said I met all the same criteria listed in Rebecca's comments and provided my cell phone # which is why i was contacted: but the person who spoke to me said a lot of CRAZY STUFF like both made over $50K a year, but bring a copy of my drivers license showing the same address as my husband, my check book and a major credit card.... but... followed with.... "do not worry... your driver's license will never leave my possession!!"
Caller's Name - Rhonda at (773) 358-1470.... and gave an email address 7969@sbcglobal.net
Pls hang up immediately!! - AmyThanks so much for your comments!! I ALMOST fell for this SCAM!! It's sounds nice and I was very tempted, but I have since called them to ask that my name be removed from thier Database!!!! The woman tried to tell me that it was NOT a SCAM & got snotty with me after I politely read the posts to her....lol She quickly hung up...I guess I called thier Bluff!!!!!

- AmandaH| 1 replyThanks for all the posts!! I just got off the phone with "Derrick" after getting many calls from "Patrick." They had me hooked when they started telling me that I had entered this drawing and was a winner and only 12 couples from my area were selected to win and needed to come to 196 Collier Dr Suite B2 Sevierville, TN 37862 this thursday @ 7pm. They even had a Prize claim # for me. I remember entering some kind of drawing at the mall, and really thought I had won it. I was hooked until he made a big deal about my husband and I not making $50,000. Then he said he had to have someone that matched that description (over 25, married, and $50,000 yearly income.) I thought it was weird that I was the one who won the drawing, but yet they weren't concerned with who claimed it, as long as they made that much money. Now that I think about it, they never even said my name. But, he swore that I wouldn't be asked to buy anything or take any tours of anything (since Sevierville is notorious for those time of things.) I'm so glad that I got on here to look up the address and found multiple sites with these type of comments. Thanks for saving me from this!!!!
Oh yeah, my caller ID showed Mitchell Communications @ 773-358-1470 and Chicago Hei, IL @ 708-248-6528 when they called.- Caller: Mitchell Communtications
- Michael S. Shoemaker, Owner replies to J29almostsold| 24 repliesI apologize for this person, named "Debbie." I do not know this person nor is this person in anyway affiliated with our company, Royal Resorts, in Sevierville, Tennessee. This person has somehow got our address and company name, and trying to solicit business on our behalf. We have not done business with anyone out of California.
- Fiddlercrab| 6 repliesWe received several calls, and always let our voicemail handle it. We were ‘hooked’ when the caller informed us that he had made several attempts to contact us, and that this would be his ‘final attempt’ to award us our prize. We called back and received the story about being entered in a contest sometime in the past 12 to 18 months, and being one of 12 ‘finalists’, who would be receiving a prize. Prizes included a Ford Explorer or $27,000 cash, a flat screen TV, or a Vacation to Las Vegas or Mexico. They needed to verify that we made at least $65,000 annually. We were told to bring our drivers licenses, checkbook and credit card, which would not leave our hands. We arrived at the location, and found it to be in a strip mall. (clue). There were more than 12 couples there. (clue). During their spiel, they showed a fuzzy unreadable BBB report with a rating of ‘A’, with zero complaints. (clue) Since the highest rating by BBB is A+, no complaints should have rated them higher. They started their ‘sales pitch’ (what happened to ‘you have already won’) of a $9995.00 lifetime membership for travel discounts, that could be willed to our children and grandchildren. (clue) When we didn’t buy, they bargained down to $2500.00. (clue) When we still didn’t succumb, they declared us as ‘Locals’ (we live 100 miles away) and told us that we would get the ‘Locals only’ benefit of unlimited hot weeks. (clue) We didn’t bite. They called over a crusty, third-world looking, cigarette smoke smelling, dental work needing, ‘finance deal specialist’. He started scratching down numbers, lining them out and then ‘arrowing’ to much smaller numbers. We got them all the way down to $100 down and $59 a month before we declined and left. Our scratch-off prize was a three vacation voucher, which had to be filled out and turned in, and a reply is supposed to be sent within 6 weeks, but a ‘deposit’ is required to redeem the vacation. Afterwards, I researched this company. Their email address is a Hotmail account. (Big CLUE). After hours of digging, I could not find one good thing that anyone has ever posted about Royal Resorts International. Not ONE. Total Load of Crap!!!

- M. Sell replies to Fiddlercrab| 4 repliesI went to this same place back in Feb. 2010, and my wife and I had a not so similar experience. Yea the sales pitch sounded very much like a timeshare presentation. We are familiar with those "spiels."
We actually bought week 40 in Gatlinburg for $8564. And the salesman started out over $20,000. This was way back in 1992 when my maintenance fees were $250 annually. Up until February when Royal Resorts took this money pit off my hands, my fees were $850 annually. Of course this does not include membership to RCI so that we could go other places $100/year and transfer fees $185 each time. So for $1000/year we got to go to a couple of different locations, i.e. mexico, dominican. But RCI never could get us to Italy, our dream vacation, even with a two year notice.
So are we skeptical? Better believe it. But they gave us some value for our useless timeshare, and sold us a week and a hot deal week. All this for less than half the price of my timeshare 20 years ago. We used that gift they gave us first. We were responsible for taxes and some processing fee, but we got our deposit back when we arrived. Staying at the Wyndam was more than we could of asked for. It was a beautiful 2 bedroom and we brought our kids-had a blast. Yes we did have to pay about $40/day due to taxes, etc. But it was very useful to us.
We thought if we could use this voucher, maybe the membership in the club will work as well. So we tried to go to a place in the islands. We had been to Grand Cayman on several cruises, and called about a place on the beach. We both had vacation and spring break for the kids around Easter. They found us a place at the Morritt's on the beach in a two bedroom for a whole week. I thought the place has to be a dump for $699/week. We have stayed in 5 star resorts around the world and have found the Ritz Carlton to be our favorite hotel. This place was fantastic-not the service of a Ritz, but the room was at least 1400 sf. Snorkeling right out back was the most fun for the kids, but my favorite thing to do was waking up with the sunset on the balcony, cup of coffee in hand. This place on line went for over $300/night without taxes. Sorry we did have to pay an extra $10/day electric fee to the resort. Grand Cayman is expensive, but we saved over $1000 already and we have just a small annual fee to worry about, not the always going up maintenance fee and assessments at the old timeshare.
Not only is this not a "scam" as you call it, I sent my best friend and his wife over to purchase.
Oh by the way, we are booked into Panama City for one of those hot deals next month.
So glad we joined.. - mgoleb replies to M. SellJust got off the phone with Jillian Menton from Royal Resorts. She told us we'd won a prize of some kind. One of four prizes in fact...A Lincoln Navigator worth over $45,000...$2,500...a vacation...or a 32' flat screen tv. Of course we were excited. It was an invitation to come to an appointment where I would have to bring my spouse in order to claim a prize. The talk we would be forced to listen to was to be 90 minutes long, and we would use a confirmation number to scratch off a ticket.
This is the same scam as the rest of the people here has experienced.
These people are masters of deception and lies.
Vermin.
Scum.
(flipping off Royal Resorts with my middle finger)
Of course, after seeing all these posts...
We will be skipping this appointment.
Thanks for the heads up...
It has helped us dodge a bullet. - susieblasterAt first it was Patrick that called from 773-358-1470 and gave the big speech about being in a drawing and could be one to win a 2010 Ford Explorer or $27,000 or Airfare for two adults from major selected international airports in the United States to one destination which may include Orlando, Miami, Los Angeles, etc or 27" Flat Screen T.V.
Then it was Melvin that started calling about the prizes we could win.
They asked to send a confirmation letter to my e-mail and had a claim code: MCG578
Yes, they want to make sure you have your driver's license, major credit card, AND a checkbook. Both you and your spouse has to be there.
When they first called, I knew it was a scam but we wanted to see how far they would go with it.
I've blocked them from my e-mail and reported the e-mail as a spam. Now, to block them from our phone.
The paper we received had Royal Resorts International 196 Collier Drive, Suite B-2 Sevierveille, TN 37862
and had a phone number 877-249-6405 ext: 112 which will take you back to Mitchell's Communication Group.

- Mitchell Communication replies to AmandaHIn order to claim your prize, your current information would have needed to match what was previously listed on the entry form. The representative stated some information to you including the income listed and when it no longer matched, you were then given an additional option of claiming your prize by having someone else come in on your behalf. It also seems like you misunderstood some of the details. I don't think that you were told that no one was going to try to sell you anything. However, I believe you were told that you would be attending an awarding, celebration and presentation for 90 minutes and that you didn't have to buy, sign or join anything to claim your prize.
- Sarah J.I recently received a call from Patrick at Mitchell Communications saying that I had won a prize. When I called back I spoke with a woman( I don't remember her name) who was very polite. She went over all of the details with me and I was a little skepital because I had received a call like this before. She gave me her telephone number and told me to give her a call if I was interested in claiming my prize. Well I discussed it with my husband and we decided to give her a call back. Of course my husband had several questions, but the lady was very patient and addressed our concerns in a very professional manner. We travel whenever possible, so we decided to attend the grand opening in Sevierville, TN. We were presented with information on discounted travel packages and we did receive one of the major prizes. This is definitely not a SCAM! We had a great time and I will definitely keep the travel agency in mind and perhaps do some business with them in the future.

- ChrisSOOOO glad I found these posts. I got a voicemail from "Patrick", who told me I won a new car, and he left the number so I, excited about winning, called back. I talked to "Christy", who was very nice, and understood when i told her that i was a bit skeptical, especially because i never entered any kind of drawing. Especially because i'm not even 18, let alone 25, married, and an income of $50,000 or more. but I thought that maybe somebody had, as a joke, signed me up, and i actually won! and she told me that i could have somebody who did fit the criteria come get the prize. so i took down her information, including the address - 196 Collier Drive Suite B2 in Sevierville, TN, the claim number - MCG516, the name of the company - R and R International, and her phone number - 877-249-6405 ext 107. also, the number that they called by was actually different, but the number they left in the voicemail was 877-279-3457. thanks for all the posts!!!
P.S. - can anyone else tell that "M. Sell" who posted on here is an employee of the scamming company to trick us yet again into thinking that they're legit?...well theyre NOT real!!!- Caller: "R&R International"
- JGot the same call from this group. thanks for the post. I hate those 90 min. things.
- Russ WWe got a cal from Jill Minton advising us that we were finalists for either a Lincoln Navigator, $2500, a 3 day vacation or a 32 inch flat screen tv. I smelled something fishy and decided to google Royal Resorts on the internet and just saw the BBB rating of "F" and "revoked". I also started to read the complaints that are on numerous blogs about this outfit. Thanks for sharing with us. We wont be attending our presentation tomorrow night. You saved us from this scam.

- jaroslaw sychtysz replies to Michael S. Shoemaker, Owner| 16 repliesRegardless of whether you know Debbie, you do know that your company is scamming people out of their hard-earned money. I have spoken with you personally on the telephone, and you refused to accept responsibility for your company's actions. We have requested a full refund of our $2995 "lifetime" membership. We have received no services from you, but rather only poor customer service. We did not even receive our "free prize" just for attending of two round trip airfares. In addition, you expressed nonchalantly how little you cared about your F Rating and revoked membership from the BBB, claiming that Walmart had a similar rating, and therefore this meant nothing to you in regards to your business practices or reputation. What a great way to run a business! I am glad to see the negative posts on the internet about Royal Resorts International (as well as God's Diet Book-your brother's other scam) in Pigeon Forge, Tn are increasing in number. Hopefully, you will soon not be allowed to continue these unethical business practices.
