I received a cell phone call and the number that showed up was 211. The called identified herself as Alicia with Consumer Concept in Miami, Florida. She stated I was selected to receive a $50.00 gift certificate and 2 free round trip airline tickets to Hawaii. She stated I only needed to pay for shipping and handling, ($4.40) and no further purchase was necessary. She asked for my credit card number to cover the $4.40. Of course, I didn't give it to her but she was extremely pushy and I hung up on her. She called me back and again was very pushy. I asked for her call back number and she gave me 877-318-9601. Again, told her I wasn't interested and do not call me back. She was relentless and I got more stern with her and this time she hung up. This is not the first call I have received from VERY pushy telemarketers. I'm sick of them calling me and the National Do Not Call list is useless.

I suddenly began receiving a paid subscription to ESPN magazine that I had never ordered. I contacted ESPN, who referred me to an independent sales company called Subco. Subco told me they received the order from an independent sales agency called Magazine Exchange Club @ 1-877-318-9601. The woman there kept asking for my phone number to look up the account. I kept telling her that they wouldn't have my number because I never ordered the magazine. I asked her who ordered and paid the $59.94 for the one year subscription. She told me she didn't have that information, and that it was a complimentary sample that I would not be charged for. I told her that 12 months of magazines are not complimentary, and I wanted to know who authorized and paid for it. She finally said I would not be charged for the "complimentary" issues I received and cancelled the order.
