- carmen| 2 repliesHello,
My mother received a call yesterday from Asset Filing Services about a civil legal matter for my brother which is 54 years old. My mother says they are calling her non stop telling her that my brother needs to contact them asap about a court case. My brother is not there all the time and refuses to call them. My mother is 76 and stressed out by these constant calls and they told her that they need for her to sign some legal papers for my brother. I called them myself and asked them why were they calling and if I was calling them at a court house. The man told me that he was not at a court house and needed to speak to my brother immediately. I called the Federal Trade Commission and they told me to have my mother write them a letter telling them not to call her phone #. The problem is we do not know where to send the letter. I found them on the web but do not know if the address is correct. My mother is so upset she wants to change her phone #. They call my mother non stop all day long. Has anyone else had this problem with this company. They seemed to have popped out of nowhere.
Thanks,
Carmen- Caller: Asset Filing Services
- karma| 1 replyjust got a call at work. they told me to give a message to this person." tell her if she doesnt go to the court house and sign papers , we will be forced to come to her place of employment and she will go to jail" . they gave out way too much info to someone who didnt need to know all this information.they left no name of business or "attorney". the person talking was reading off a script. scare tactics are illegal and giving out information to an "unknown" is also illegal isnt it ?
- TerryJust received a call from these people, they had all my basic information except my correct last name, they told me I was getting ready to be served a subpoena, when I asked them out what county, the man on the phone did not know. I have never heard of these people, nor have I had a payday loan from anyone. Feel this is a scam. Before I called them, these people had called my sister looking for me and wanted to "deliver a subpoena to her for me" My sister told them that I did not live there and there was no way to get it to me so the subpoena would be void. These people are apparently using underhanded techniques to get to people. Report them, ask for their address and the name of the person you are talking to as well as the name of the company, then report them to the attorney general.

- GinaThese people have been calling my mothers house trying to get ahold of my ex sister in law. Been divorced for 6 years. Saying she is going to get a failure to appear due to an outstanding debt, There is a subpoena for her to appear in court and such. I just happened to be at my parents house the day the 1st call came in, called her right away. A couple weeks later they called again saying she never set up a time and place to be served papers and for us to contact her again to call them. When I talked to her she said they thought something was fishy. Claimed she had taken out a credit card in her maiden name a couple years ago and wanted her checking number to take care of it. After telling me this, I started looking in to it and found out all this info on this scam. I did notify her and my mom is going to give them "her" number if they call again, the number will be for the local police station.

- JohnMy wife received a call indicating they had a summons for a sister-in-law - she took the number and on review I called the number and indicated they were not to call our number again for any reason, and hung up. The telemarketer then called back to tell me he was"trying to help me" and I was rude for hanging-up. I "yelled" that he didn't know what rude was, and that I felt that calling from a blocked number and indicating they wanted to serve summons to us so that we could do their job and deliver the summons to our sister-in-law ("IF" that's what this is really about) was unconscionable. As he was again attempting to interrupt and tell me how rude I was being I told him to never call this number again you **ck**. I am calling the attorney general.

- GraceI just received a call from these people they were looking for my grandmother I told them she was in a nursing home and was incoherent they stated that they would serve her with court paper at the nursing home if I didn't have her call them back. I told them to do what they have to. I had a call like this before from some management company who was trying to collect money in the same manner I wouldn't be surprise if they have change there name. If you are going to serve someone with paper you don't have to call them to let them know or have them meet you anywhere. Plus if you owe money companies usually just issue a warrant in debt and take judgment you normally don’t even have to come to court and they will usually garnish you wages. These people have purchased account for a little money and are trying to collect by any means necessary.

- cj replies to karmaYes,they are a collection agency, giving out too much information to family members that they have reached at another number, legal document information would not be given out to a second party,it would be restricted for the person in general,I'm fed up with it and they have crossed the line and put others and myself in a embarrassing situation,I'm going to follow up legally against them to file a lawsuit aginst them.
