Online and Mailers Scam used to bilk people. Charging $110 for a $10 state corp. filing.

Received a mailer asking for $120 to file my llc info.  It looks like its from a legit gov agency.  Pretty good scam - but still a scam.

Got mail asking 160$ for annual report i believe its a scam as well

I got that mail. But no topic for my business. They asking to fill out the form. Definetly scam. Very careful people

Well, Folks, the price has gone up. It is now $189. Interestingly enough their "office address" shows their suite is located in a UPS office -- who knew UPS offered suites for rent?  Their business is (surprise! surprise!) not listed on the Oregon State Business Registry. It's a well-designed scam, with quite government looking forms. Did they pay UPS to print them? One wonders why anyone smart enough to design and implement such a scam can't put their efforts toward a more legitimate business. It would be interesting to know whether this "company" actually paid the state required fees and just kept the difference, or if they just kept the whole amount and the company's had to pay a second time to the real folks.

Interesting how no one has posted the name of the company calling them.

Received letter for my LLC statement of information renewal which I renewed last year. Asking to lay for $120 with check. Form looks different from California LLC-12 and return address is strange:

I've got a letter from them. They want me to pay $120  for the statement. Seems like a scam. The address sho showing up as UPS Store on Google map.

Definitely scam.  Received very official-looking form to file yearly report with State of CO.  Form is from B.C.S., with return envelope to 5614 Connecticut Ave NW #14, Washington DC 20015.  Googling that address shows it is a UPS store.  The form wants $110 to file the yearly report, which I file yearly for $10 online.  At the bottom of the form, it actually says that you can file it yourself for $10.  There is a card in the packet with a phone number to call for questions.  It is 8773294662.  This is definitely a scam.

Mail Came from C.F.S. P O Box 16789- Atlanta, Ga 30321 to mail check in amount of $150 for state registration, which we do online with the State each year....for $50

I've received two request to do my annual registration from  CFS PO Box 16789 Atlanta, GA 30321 for $150.00. I call the first time to verify 404-328- 7816, and probed for the company relationship with GA secretary of State and was told I didn't have to register with them but it was recommended for some sort of GA LLC database. Second notice I decided to look online and found these and other post in relation to it not being legal. OML I was paying bills and was going to write the check...these post saved me! Thanks

Received some forms requesting my company info and a fee of $295 to file and process form. States CFS with no more information. Mailing PO Box from Charlotte NC. Believe these are scammers.  Beware!!

It appears that they are renting mailboxes in every state to look like they are legitimate.  The mail gets forwarded to them by the mailbox company.

We got this official looking form in the mail to re-register an LLC.

"If <name> LLC does not file an annual registration in the applicable filing period, you may be at risk for penalties and fines."

Cost is $150 for this 'service,' when I could file it myself for $10.

This was funny: They made this completely meaningless statement in order to fool people -

"All CFS processing fees are 100% fully guaranteed."

Guaranteed to be what?  Past due? Outstanding? Owed?

It looks like a "legal" scam. There are a couple of clear disclaimers on their form.

Mail Scam.  You are given a phone number to call and if you fall for this your loss is self-inflicted. This scam and the same letter has been around for years - email and snail mail. You might take the letter to your post office as this might be the sort of mail fraud they would be interested in.

If it's too good to be true, there is something wrong with it.

I got scammed last Dec I just found out. I just called Secretary Of State and told them that I paid them $120 last year and they told me I got SCAMMED. The Secretary of State does not send you a bill they send you a post card every other year.

I just got this official looking form in the mail as well with a return envelope printed with the Sacramento address referenced by some above.  They had all of my business info for LLC filled out in the form's spaces...makes it easy for me.  All I have to do is send them a check for $150 (I am in CA).
There is a different number than the one above on the form, but in a separate short page with
"Filing Checklist-Keep this information for your records" at the top, this number is listed.  While looking official, the second and third times that I read through it, it looked more and more like a scam.  No business name that sounds right. Just the CSF as listed for others here.  BBB gave it a bad rating.  These people make me sick!!
