keep getting calls from a Mr. Shapiro saying he will serve me and there will be an additional $500 fine and possible jail time - I have no idea what he is talking about.  Anyone else had similar issues?

same here and says he is looking for my daughter who hasn't lived with me in ten years!

i got a call yesterday from the date i posted this that i owe some payday loan advance some money and if i dont pay ill go to jail some check fraud or post dated check wich i never even signed for and basically broke it down pay now, 2 installmensts, or 3 instalments and that i am a F&*$in lier and all wow major aggressive

He said there is a charge against me.  He wanted to give a chance to explain by call him at 877-333-2803

i getting same exact calls! should i b worried? or is it a fraud ? he evn been calling my dads and told them if they wanna make payment they could!

Usually, these calls are regarding "bounced checks" from a payday loan that was taken out.... some people tend to forget that they took out these types of loans. While others down right have no concern to payback the loan that was taken out.

I received the same call from the same f**king idiots at this number (877-333-2803) saying the same thing about a "hot check" that was written and they want you to call this number before they take further action... this is just an attempt, (desperate attempt) to collect for a loan/debt... nothing more.. they can't do anything else but this... otherwise, it would have been done long long ago...they say they are there local but these idiots have you call somewhere for this information...this is just another desperate attempt to collect this loan from those payday loans...

so you harass the hell out of them by using these "scare tactics" to make them pay up??  shouldn't they just continue to contact the individual by mail with collection letters?? either way, it isn't criminal to have debt...strictly civil... and doing what they do doesn't hold up in a court of law...

strictly an attempt to collect a debt.... usually this is with payday loan companies....which is civil, won't hold up in a court of law... just a bad debt that they are making a desperate attempt to collect by intimidating people with the "bad/hot check" issue....

So you take out a payday loan that you do not intend to payback? A loan is defined as;  A thing that is borrowed, esp. a sum of money that is expected to be paid back with interest.

I made arrangements to repay my payday loan, monthly and these calls stopped. Last loan repayment is next week. After 2 years putting this off I finally don't have to worry about people calling me.

They were pretty nice compared to the other collectors I dealt with before.

My husband got a call as well and was told he would be fined 2,000 and 2 years of jail.  Not only are they calling him but also people we don't even know personally maybe possibly met them once we only know this because they are friends of our family members they are thier friends not ours.  Its really rude. I am going to contact the police because its sounding like stalking to me.

RECEIVED SEVERAL CALLS FROM THIS RUDE MONKEY NAME MR SHAPIRO SAYING THAT HE IS GOING TO FILE CHARGES ON ME FOR A HOT CHECK/PAYDAY LOAN, I ASKED HIM WHO DID I WRITE THE HOT CHECK TO. HE STARTED SCREAMING BEENING VERY RUDE THEN HUND UP THE PHONE.

This guy is insane. I try to call a mrs. Banks back & get him. He is very abusive & i reported them to police. I think its a scam.

these people contacted me yesterday about a payday loan that I had.  Was able to work out payment plan to get this matter taken care of.  I don't know what these other people are talking about but they were nice to me andwill pay it off by July

SHILL- It's the old "Oh, they were so nice, & worked with me" BS. No mention of any paperwork received. No mention of IF the debt was real. Caller uses threats of jail, so we know it's fake. (CANNOT be sent to jail for a debt - civil/not criminal)

I did receive a call from these people.  They were professional and more than willing to answer any questions I had.  I did right a bad check for the repayment of a payday loan.  They were willing to work with me and the account was paid off.  I also received a final paid letter.  Don't know what everyone is bitching about

It's bad when you bounce a check to grade school. Look boy- I believe there is cricket on India's national tv channel today, take it in. You're just not cut out for this.

My husband recieved a call on his cell, trying to reach me, very vague and made no sense. Gave a case number, said I was being sued for a hot check, trying to avoid issuing a warrant or something. My husband said he tried to make himself sound like he was with the police.

The address he gave for me is over 3 years old and we have never bounced a check. All I can get is a message line and I am NOT leaving this joker any info.
