Have recieved numerous calls from this number, called & spoke to my office manager about serving me papers at work or by fax (is that even legal?)  Now is faxing papers wanting employment verification on me.  Help?!

It depends on what they are wanting to serve you papers on. It sounds like a debt collection agency. And yes they will verify employment and move forward with garnishment if you don't talk to them and set up a plan. not saying I am correct 100% but this is what is sounds like.

who is this number to they are threatening to serve me in 72 hours with court documents...if i dont come up with 500 now..

called asking about my sister and told me that it had to do with a wichova  fraud related activities and wanted me to give them her number

A person cannot be served papers over the phone or by fax. An agency cannot make first contact by calling jobs and threatening to sue or have you served. These people are leeches and frauds who got a hold of enough people and scared them into giving money. I get these calls all the time. Unfortunately, with the ability today to get anybody's information, it is more common than ever. never give any information out, if they're suing you, they should already have it along with copies of an original loan doc and they should be sending letters FIRST. And anyone that puts a message up here saying how they were 'helped',, works for that leech harrassing everyone else. I owe no one anything and on average, I get 'served' over the phone, at least twice a week!

these people go under the name of Drake and Clark no real legal firm, the have several numbers that they call from and try to be very clever. Mr. Marshall is  very rude, and will call any relative they can think of to try and harass and make threats its against the law to do that.... they have several numbers wont give out of their information but demand your bank account, have your boss look them up before they send them a dime!! WARNING DO NOT SEND THESE PEOPLE MONEY OVER THE PHONE WITH NO WAY OF KNOWING WHO YOU ARE SENDING YOUR MONEY TO AND REALLY WHY!!  CALL ONE OF THOSE BILL COLLECTOR LAWS AND REPORT THEM.

I a call from this number today and there saying I owe them money from over 2 years ago...can they sue me or is it a scam?

sounds like a debt collection company.  I have an address

they are leggally only supposed to speak with YOU about your debt.  anything else is illegal.  I suggest you send them a letter, certified mail, stating that they are in violation of the federal fair debt collection practices act and that they are to cease all telephone communication with you , and contact you my mail only.  Also ask them for verification of the debt.

they can sue you and try and obtain a judgment and garnishment if you owe the debt and dont respond to the complaint if filed.

tell them you want to send in a money order for payment to get their address, or ask them to send you the payment arrangement terms via fax so you can get an address on them.  

then send a letter via certified mail, asking for verification of the debt.  

they are required by law to send you this info within 30 days.  Make sure you send the letter certified return rcpt, so you can know when to start counting the 30days.

"I have a complaint in front of me..."

Caller ID showed as "Out of Area"
