- Anthony LemonsThis collection company has been violating federal laws for a long time now. Do not speak to them. If they call and threaten legal action, you need to file a complaint with your state attorney gnerals office.

- kimSo are these people fakes? They just called me a few hours ago and only gave me 48 hours to accept their settlement. It is my uderstanding they are to give you 30 days to dispute a debt.
- Caller: O'Brien Wexler and Associates
- Lee LeeSome lady called me stating that I had to call her or they would take action against me. I figured if they are legit I would receive a letter in the mail.
- SheI just received a call from them stating that they have been trying to contact me and that their clients are getting tired of trying to get a hold of me. That a piece of paper with my number and SSS number cam across their desk and need me to call back ASAP. Should I call them back ?

- hard earning tax payer| 1 replyMy parents have been receiving calls from the same "law firm." I am a paralegal and know that they are doing multiple things that if they were a true law firm, they would know. This is such a scam. NEVER give out any information including: confirming social security numbers, addresses or giving out any bank/credit card information. No matter what they say, these people are trained to scare you into giving out your personal info so they can take your money. They would have things like your address and social if you were really in a suit. Law firms use software to find their defendants...not threatening phone calls. SUCH A SCAM!!!

- aelfheld replies to SisAffidavits don't mean anything - it's judgments you need to worry about.
- aelfheld replies to dkdThat's a crock.
The only attorney you should provide information to is one you've hired. - Hmm replies to not worried| 1 replyWhen someone is being sued, an official notification is delivered by person to the individual being sued. Whoever is present needs to sign. If you do not show up to court, you have 30 days to provide a reason why you did not show up. After that, the judge orders for wage garnishment. I do not believe what you have posted.
- paSo after I sent them a letter asking them to not contact me or any 3rd party. I blocked them from calling my cell phone. So what did they do, called my in-laws. They have no problem not following the law.
- Strangegot a call from these guys to my wife's cell# and indicated the could not release information until she provided the last four of my SSN. She did (big mistake). 1st, she should have never disclosed my SSN digits, 2nd the guy was telling me that I still owed money from a BK from 3.5yrs ago (BS). I think this is a scam. This debt was discharged yrs ago. they have never provided information, it's BS.

- Strange replies to hard earning tax payerunfortunately my wife gave out last 4 of SSN.

- SOCCER MOMSome woman named Evelyn called my inlaws house looking for me. I called them back and asked her what this was in reference to. At first she wanted me to beleive her and not check with the bank she was like I have all the information right here. I told her that may be but I am NOT going to pay something unless I know for sure that it is true! She said I had funds from a national co llc deposited into an account I had back in April of 2010. I don't have the account anymore so i went to the bank they said the money was deposited into which by the way had long since changed names when I had my account (she gave me the old bank name) And low and behold there was NO SUCH deposit made into my account on that date!!!! She said well u have to fax them the statement to prove it isn't true because I am in their system. I told her I had an attorney and if she contacted me again I would contact him. She was like oh - yeah good for you I would have one too..so I say to her what is your fax number - she gives me her phone number. Then I call back to get the address - they wont give it to me - I said why is it a secret? She said they can't divulge that info - why because what they are doing is illegal? She yelled at me and hung up. I called again and asked for the fax number. they gave it to me but it wont go through. I called and called and he keeps giving me the same number. I looked up their web address and again low and behold NO Address......I just called again to get their address and they gave me a po box. Now I can have my attorney send them a letter!

- Fred replies to Frederick W. Ohmacht| 2 repliesFred you're false advertising! I guarantee nobody said that you're going to jail, so wherever you pulled that from is a lie.
- UtahThey left me several messages over the past three months. Each time saying I have 48 hours. They are not a law firm. Since they are claiming to be they are already violating federal law for the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The BBB gives them a C rating. They are not licensed to collect in states other than their own; therefore if they try to collect on you call your state's Department of Financial Institutions and see if they are licensed to collect Most likely they aren't. If not, tell them that and state if they try to do any legal action tell them to contact your Department of Financial Institutions and explain to them why the state should not sue them for operating and harassing illegally within the state. They will most likely hang up.

http://www.bbb.org/upstate-new-york/Business- ... aints#breakdown - Tired of Calls replies to Fred| 1 replyI believe him when he says somebody told him he was going to jail. The same people called my parents, and are trying to call me, regarding a relative they "have an issue with", and told my mom that if they didn't respond in 24 hours the sheriff would be at their home with a warrant for their arrest, and that they could straighten it out at the courthouse before a judge. And that they would have to fax something back to the company for their name to be removed from the file. They've also evidently gone on the internet to locate neighbors' names and phone numbers, because several of my relative's neighbors received calls telling them "did you know that you have a deadbeat neighbor who won't pay their bills?" And just for the record, the relative in question is NOT responsible for whatever collection scam this company is operating.
- MADit's from a supposed "law firm" called O'brien Wexler. In reality they're a collections firm (most likely a fraud, since there is no listing for them anywhere. All calls are transfered to, and made from cell phones. They keep calling me and i don't know what to do anymore. Could someone please help me.

- HeatherReceived calls from this number on my home and cell....when called back the person who answers the phone can tell you nothing...she said I am unsure what it pertains to if someone didn't leave you a message....hmmm....from reading all the other posts I am sure it is a scam or a bottom feeder debt collection agency. Either way no sweating it here!
- Call type: Debt collector
- Heather replies to RonThis is BS....no one can take you to jail over a civil suit...which is what unpaid debt falls into. Don't believe everything you see on the internet!!!
