Be careful with this because they called requesting my husbands social to confirm the move but my husband isn't the one under the account, it's me! Thank god I couldn't remember the social and just happily give it to them. I tried calling them the day before our move to confirm the move again and the ringtone and call wait music isn't the same as regular Comcast! So I called the  regular comcast number (1800-comcast) and they did not have any information of my move.... So DONT GIVE THIS NUMBER YOUR INFO!!!!!

This number called me, but when I answered, they hung
    up and said nothing.

Called about an hour after I put in a transfer of address order.   I didn't answer at the time but Googled the number, and this thread came up.   I called it back anyway and was able to set up a transfer of service to my new address.   It is correct that it doesn't resemble regular Comcast, but it is legit.   I called the Comcast number today I was sent in an e-mail before the call from this number came through 5 days ago to confirm the transfer and they had all the information that I had given the person at this number 5 days ago and that the order had been completed.

This number left me a voicemail claiming to be Comcast to finalize my move. Shortly after they also sent me an email asking to call them back. I was wary because I thought my move was already finalized by Comcast. So I called the Comcast customer line asking if anyone from the company called me. They checked my contact record and said this number is not them. This is a scam!! Do not give them your social security number.

same as above, i contacted comcast and was told to never give your ss# to someone who calls you.  When you answer their call from the phone number on your account it verifies who you are.  Its a scam!

This is Comcast's Transferring Service Department. I requested a service transfer via Comcast's website and received a call from this number about 15 minutes later. I said hello a couple times and received no response and just as I hung up a lady said hello. I called back and she picked up the phone. While she was difficult to understand due to the way she spoke. She asked for my name and last four digit of my SS#. I agreed and she responded that the last four digits did not match what they had on record. (This was the same issue I was having online). We verified the account via my drivers license. She checked the address and verified there was a hot tap (meaning service was available at that location). Since the previous home-owner had not removed his name from the account I was not able to transfer my services. However she said that since the tap was hot all I would have to do is bring my equipment to the home and call them to transfer services.

This is not a scam people its Comcast.
#1 They called 15 minutes after I requested my services changed on Comcast's website
#2 The lady on the line already knew all my information - Hence they had my last 4 digits of my SS# wrong online and it was wrong when she called. I doubt that's a coincidence

If it was a scam why would they call me for information they already had?

It seems more like this department is contracted by Comcast so they may not be actual Comcast Employees. Comcast does a lot of contracting out there services and sometimes Comcast's computers and the contractors do not talk to each other.
    Good product, crappy customer service.

I talked to Comcast chat support and they confirmed this is a legitimate Comcast number.

Not that calling the number helped in any way. After providing all info for my service transfer they put me on hold, and after at least 5 minutes on hold the call just disconnected. I had to set up the transfer through live chat.

It's legit.  Climb down off the walls.  It's Comcast Mover's line.  As simple as that.  Will they try to sell you other products?  Sure, but it's really their Mover's line and it is legit.  No conspiracy here.

This is Comcast's moving service. They did call me 4 times with no message which seemed weird, finally left a voicemail after the 5th call and I called back. It is legit.

I, too, received a call from this number right after requesting to move my equipment. I did not answer because I had requested to have the call go to my mobile number. I am very suspicious, now, because of what others have reported.
