- mitchI'm getting constant calls from #'s of my area code and similar 3 numbers right after the area code on new days, each day always the same area code but new next 3 numbers, different following 4 numbers every call that day; next day and subsequent days all have original area code(mine) 3 different next 3 numbers(these remain the same for that given day, and 4 different numbers all changing for each call on that particular day. no messages are left,. The few times I've answered they hang up. I've called back and it's Progressive Direct. I pushed 0 and got a rep. She asked if I was or have ever been a customer, I said never and never will be! I told her I was on the DO Not Call list.gov, she said but are you on our do not call list, I shouldn't have to be because the .gov list should kick out my number from Progressives calling idioits.
I told her I've contacted my phone company, my local and state police, my District Attorney as well as my State's Attorney, all of which I actually did- they each told me they can procure my phone records on my request, which I did over the phone with their legal recording and written request which was Notarized and delivered to each agency giving all of them the legal right to work together with the FCC. I have until today's business closing to rescind the request otherwise it's a go on their part and out of my hands. They will have the ability to check each of the phone numbers called to my phone. It is not only legally considered harassment but also stalking and a bunch of other crimes I had no idea existed, much to my pleasure! I will not rescind this, Government goes full blast on this, and in my state, they do not give up thank goodness.- Caller: Progressive Direct

One of the great things about 800Notes is being able to cross-check what others are saying about incoming phone calls. Unfortunately, there are some users that don't bother to do any legwork at all and simply cry wolf for any # that calls them. This degrades the value of this resource for everyone!
Next time you get a call from an unknown number, try actually doing some real work to find out who the caller is, instead of just jumping to the wrong conclusion. - Badge714 replies to RWardCorrect. Technology has changed phone service. NEVER give out personal, or financial information on a call YOU did not make, from a number you verified as real. Criminals can easily fake caller ID.
- BigA replies to Progressive Auto Insurance ScamI am guessing that either your father or your mother was a parrot. Either that or there is an echo on this website. I have to draw those conclusions because I see no other reason for posting the same exact thing 5 times on the same day other then that you are so attention starved that this is your cry for attention.
Your post isn't even written as would be done an intelligent person. If you know what this scam is and it needs to be reported to the police, what is the scam, and did you yourself report it to the police? Probably not because it is easier to sit behind a keyboard and try to get someone else to do what you should be doing. Or maybe it is not a scam and you are simply not happy with Progressive insurance? You would not report it to the police in that case since you would be making a false police report.
So sit back, enjoy the weekend, have another beer, and try to make some friends.
