    Had FUN with this Clown

Don't engage with these idiots.  They use illegitimate collection methods.  This guy called and claimed he was a "PROCESS SERVER" to imply a lawsuit had been filed - he said he couldn't be sure who brought the lawsuit - which is ridiculous because any process server has that information at the top of the papers he is serving.  I looked up the name he gave "NELSON HALL" my state's official process server register, and there's no one by that name.  He also said that he loved his job because it was "lots of fun and great money."  And he voluntarily discussed knives and guns.  No process server I've ever known is that unprofessional.  The most current address he had for the person he was looking for was 14 years old.  He gave the court case number as 5 digits - that also is B.S. because even our small claims courts have more digits than that!  He gave 877-351-1486 as the number for the plaintiff in the case he was trying to "serve".  So, I called this number and a RUDE guy who said he was "JASON FRANCO" & he yelled, "WRITE IT DOWN!"  (What a sad clown.) He also said it was a law firm, Bergstein Bird & [something else] Litigation Group in California.  He sounded like he was in an enclosed, metal room.  When I asked for a lawyer, he refused, demanded my state bar number and carried on loudly and rudely in the most unprofessional way. You know, NOT like a law firm. He repeatedly told me I was "claiming" to be a lawyer on a recorded line.  Funny that he didn't tell me at the beginning of the call that it was a recorded line, like a truly professional organization would do. Truly, I have never heard of a law firm recording incoming calls.  I don't know who this guy (or these folks) really are, but I doubt he is really "Jason Franco," or "Nelson Hall." I doubt that it was a law firm.  I doubt that there is a law suit.  I suspect it's a sad, little collection guy who hasn't read the Fair Credit Reporting Act, but skimmed a little bit on Wikipedia, and thinks that claiming he is a process server and giving out his own phone number as the contact number is a great way to avoid being accused of violating the Act, when he engages in behavior that violates the act.  I will say this, I got a bit of a chuckle out of how bullyish he is, so if you get bored and want to call him, please do so as my surrogate representative and give out a 5-digit number that begins with a 6 - and just see if you can enjoy his antics as much as we did.  His number again is 877-351-1486.

    Almost FellForit
877-351-1486 tried me on my personal cell and at work. Older lady heavy NY accent told me there was a case pending against me and I needed to call the office with my case number. I said "No thanks, just mail me the documents at home." She says: "OK I'll tell them that you refused the call..." C'mon with the bulls**t...

Me too replies to Had FUN with this Clown
Gee, I had the pleasure of speaking to the same rude bully just yesterday. I just don't know what he was after. Wish I hadn't responded, though. Thanks for this site.

    This is the second time
My sister and my mother both received calls from this number stating that there was a case pending against me and that I needed to call the number with the case number to get it all straightened out.  I finally called the second time when they had called my mothers cell phone number to see what it was regarding.  Did not give any information about myself, even played dumb when it came to the case number (even though I had it right in front of me), but did give the phone number that was on file.  They wanted me to give them the last 4 of my social security number, but I told the lady that I was not comfortable giving that information over the telephone.  She tried to get any other information out of me but I simply declined and was asking to know what the reason for the call was.  She would not give me any information unless I gave her identifying information about myself.  I finally told her that I would like the calls to stop going to my mother and asked what company she was with.  She gave me her name, "Monica", but would not tell me the company that she was working for.  I eventually hung up.  This is a huge scam of people trying to get information out of you in order
