Scam.  They called twice within 5 minutes, claiming to be from "Wells Fargo fraud alert".  Both of the callers started with the same script, saying they'd "blocked the last two transactions of $2000 and $1000 transferring money via Zelle to [random name] from a brand new Wells Fargo account opened yesterday".  Slick operators, had just the right amount of concern to sound like a real fraud alert rep--WATCH OUT!  If they worry you, don't trust them, hang up, then call your bank (or Wells Fargo) directly!

I played along with the first one (without giving any info, of course) to see what they were after.  The first caller [weirdly] tried to get me to verify what make and model cell phone I had as proof that he was legit!?  He said if I really had such-and-such make and model phone, I would have gotten their last two texts warning me about these transactions.  I pestered him with questions, about this "new account".  Lunge, parry, riposte.  I told him "they were welcome to block ALL transactions as it wasn't mine, wasn't legit, I've never banked with Wells Fargo, never used Zelle" He got tired of me and hung up.

The second caller started with exactly the same script, but used a different name for the supposed recipient of the funds.  I asked him to remove my phone number from their list as I knew he wasn't legit.  Oddly enough, seems to have worked...they haven't called back, and are off to easier marks.
