They are calling me too. It's a recording saying they are the irs and that this is a final notice ( saying they have been trying to get a hold of you for 6 months )and they are filing a lawsuit against you and you need to call them back. IT IS A SCAM!!! IRS would contact you through mail!!! Just for the reason of people trying to scam people.

This number called and left a voicemail saying that they've ben trying to get ahold of me for 6 months and now I have a saw suit against me. SCAMMMM! DO NOT ANWSER!

I received the very same, so I called the number back and it was a middle eastern man at a tech company.

He asked for my name and hung up.

When I immediately called back, he answered "Hello! IRS!" ... after I asked him if he really thought the Internal Revenue Service answers their phone like that, he then called me a [***] and hung up.

I hope he likes speaking to the police today.

I called it back cause it is similar to my car loan companies' number.  They said they were IRS as you all have mentioned he said he was Officer Kevin.  Anyway I led him on for a bit and he asked me who prepared my taxes and I responded with, aren't you my tax accountant? he got flustered and then told me I was being sued by the IRS and asked me if I knew that, I said no and he hung up. Hopefully he won't call back.

my husband just got this same call. This is fraud. IRS never calls they send out a letter. Please do not give these people any of your personal information, send them money or even call them back.

I have been getting the same call with the same message for about 3 weeks now

Calls repeatedly, says IRS is preparing a lawsuit with a middle eastern accent.  I have replied that my brother works IRS in Miami, and nothing is pending.  Officer kevin “ Achmed” then replied local offices do not handle these matters, only the national office handles

Called me and left a number. I thought it was our ins company so I called back. They answered, "Thank you for calling the IRS; how can I help you?" Yeah, right. I hung up.

Scam call from fake IRS..  Fake.

I just got the same call as Mike and everyone else here. They called on my cellphone and not my home phone. I don't ever use my cellphone for or with my taxes or the IRS.  just want to say thank you to Mike for the info. You always have to be aware of the many phone scammers. FYI! One of their newest scams is to use the business phone number of a current business that has been in business for generally a long time. They use a business for example : A business in the Eastern part of United States of America and call people in the Pacific and mountain time zones hoping the person they are calling won't be familiar with the business name and phone number they are using to call you from. Then they try to scam away on you. Also if you might have recently had an outstanding bill or balance owed to a company , and have paid it off completely, someone will call you about the remaining balance you paid off claiming you did not pay it off. Then they try to get you to pay them directly. If you refuse or say you don't owe it anymore or you paid it off in full they do everything they can think of while on the phone with you to try and convince you if you don't pay them now, the police or sheriffs officers are coming soon to arrest you. They tell you that you will be spending a long time in jail and all of your neighbors will know this because they will see you get arrested. Just another SCAM.

I got the same call today on my cellphone and not my home phone. I knew it was a scam. They left me a voicemail message about their scam. One can never be too careful when answering there home or cell phones. Or even when returning a phone call from a phone number or person you don't know . Everytime be aware and be safe.

they just called me , i called back was was informed that with in 45 mins the warrant for my arrest would be issued and cops would be at my location to arrest me for 6 months freeze my bank acct and suspend my license. all because they have tried to contact me several times and couldnt, so now i am committing felony tax evasion for 2015-2016 taxes . kept calling m,e rude and stupid for having my taxes prepared by someone other then myself.

Now they're not only calling people, but have a fake popup scam that keeps you from shutting down your browser & says your computer has been blocked.  It gives this number to call.  Such bull.  All you have to do is CTRL + ALT + DELETE to close the browser and then reopen it

This number called but left a voice mail saying that I needed to call 877-353-1146. Said his name was Charles with outsourcing and that there has been a complaint filed in their office. I am debt free so I know that this is a Scam!  Be careful, these lowlifes are trying to scam people especially during the holidays.
