claiming to have a class action lawsuit Lpa associates comes up on caller ID - they even called my family in Florida

Was called by an "Unknown" number, which unfortunately my mother's work # always comes up as. I answered and was told I was being served papers in a civil action. When I asked what it was about they offered me a number to call for details.
When I called this 877-353-8714 number and gave the "reference number" I was transferred to another person, who said "I heard you are completely unaware of what this is about". I never said anything of the sort except when I was on the unsolicited call from the unknown number. The man proceeded to tell me this was a suit in regards to my Chase Visa card... I have NEVER had a Chase Visa card.
Needless to say I was furious that they me had thinking I was the subject of a lawsuit and let the man know, in very salty language, what I thought of them. In retrospect I should have played along and gotten more info on this "business" and forwarded it to the authorities.
Everyone I spoke to spoke English well. Although they were fuzzy on details that they should have known. Press THEM to give info, don't give any of your own!
