Report them to the FTC, go to ftc.gov.

Report them to the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

If you can't find them, simply Google them and you will. :)

Our small business received a phone call from YP.com saying our account was past due. Never heard of them. We have only 2 people here at the shop and so know the recording of the "confirmation" of this order was faked as it was not my voice or my partner's. Jordan Myles from "collection" is now calling us about once a week. We just received faxed copies of our past due invoice. We will of course not be paying them, but would love to put them out out of business and put everyone else out of the misery they are causing.

company called and claimed to be local yellow pages listing agency. I asked why their name wasn't the one on the inside of the current book, she said that it was printed by someone else. Such a scam. All they want is a check for $499.95 and then you will never hear from them again.

Called and misrepresented themselves even after being asked directly no less than 5 times if they were my local regular phone book. Representative has called twice and tried to "resolve" the issue and is now supposedly trying to get my bill down to just the "template cost", which is still over  $200.  They called when I was busy at work and outright lied to me. I won't be paying them a dime.

They are not easily swayed into taking no for an answer!  They originally called me and told me they were our current distributor and they were offering a deal on 2 years of service, after asking several questions, I told them no.  They called back later that day and I told them no again.  They actually called me back AGAIN and would not let up until I informed that they I had read about them being a scam.  I can't believe they called back so many times!

I really appreciate the info posted here. YPMedia slyly got an employee of ours to approve a 2 yr. contract. I threw away the invoice we got, then received a past due fax. When I called the representative for the "collection service" stated that the $499 "sale" price had now grown to $697 due to overdue fees. IN ONE MONTH!. They are snakes!!!! I now will be contacting the Illinois States Attorney's office and file a complaint. Needless to say no $$$ will be going their way.

Our experience with YPMedia was identical and, like you, we are not paying a cent.  What is the best way to report the incident?  Thank you.

I have worked at this small company for over 4 yrs. Today a woman who said her name was Jenny, with an accent called, and said she was just calling to verify our information for the Yellow Pages. Having dealt with scams like this before, I started asking her questions starting out with if she was Verizon, which is the local yellow pages where I live. She kept trying to say it WAS the listing in our local yellow pages-she would not say she was from Verizon. Then she said it was a website. At first she said it was Yellowpagesmedia.com then she changed it to YellowpagesmediaONLINE.com. She took me through the opening the website, showing a listing of our name on it, etc. In asking her more questions, she said that we had listed with them 2 yrs ago and paid over $400(I knew THAT wasn't true). Finally I asked her if it was a free service and she said no-it was over $400 and I told her "No we do not want to pay for the listing." They also send "invoices" in the mail which look like real invoices for advertising and then wehn you read the fine print it says it is not an actual invoice-it is just trying to get someone in your office to send in the $$ thinking it is an actual payment.

Same scam as all the above. First notice of something wrong was the invoice faxed for 499.95. Called them, no answer-only can leave message. Talked to my front-end guy. Said he didn't remember doing this. Now they're calling saying he authorized this advertisement. They played back the phone conversation, and he said yes to their question, inbetwen answering other lines at his desk, obvoisly confused and scattered trying to get off the phone with this high pressure salesman who implied we already had an account with their co.. Now Mr. Arthur Walley for YP media-"collections" is looking into how to reduce my bill and will call me back. I told him this was unauthorized, and send me proof in writing we agreed to this. He said that it is legal to authorize this over the phone, and that I couldn't cancel it because it was past the timeframe for doing such. Now I'm worried they'll nuke my credit, showing past due. Reading the above entries I will not pay them anything..but am wondering about the law. How can I make them go away?!

They've stopped calling me...haven't been bothered by them in over a month and a half.  They'll give up so just forget about them.  I was contacted by the authorities after making a complaint with the NY Attorney General's Office and they have made an arrest and are dealing with them.  Report them to the New Jersey BBB.  That's where they're actual address originates from.

Received a call from Chris Dunn from the collections department of yellowpagesmediaonline.com. Said we were past due on an invoice that was appoved back in October (4 months ago).  When I questioned what invoice he gave me the name of the person who supposedly gave the authorzation and let me listen to a recording of that person...I know for a fact that this person did not authorize anything of the sort and that the voice on the recording was not her.  I refused to pay the invoice and told him this was fraudulent. Don't pay anything if you get a bill from this company

If they have the recording, are they gona send it to collection agency to collect money from you? They told me that was the phone contract which is the same as paper contract. The recording is the proof. How come no one has done anything to stop them yet!
