Is it real or a scam

MSM LEGAL AND FINANCIAL SERVICES:
First call came across “NO CALLER ID” they guy told us that they had been attempting to serve legal papers. He then gave us a “case number” and told us to call 1-877-380-8214 within an hour.
We then called the number they gave us and after the call things just didn’t sit right. Here’s a rundown of what happened
This company (MSM Legal and Financial Services) claimed to be a debt collector wanting to settle our debt over a voluntary repossession.
The balance that they wanted to start was $6,000 (which this isn’t even the amount we owe for the vehicle)then they said they would settle for $1,400, then we told them all we could afford was $25/month we were told this would not suffice. Then the settlement offer they gave dropped to $700 if paid today. We told them no $25/month take it or leave it. They stated “I guess we’ll just garnish your wages and take your tax return” and hung up. We later found out they can’t touch our return.  MSM said they had made 2 previous failed attempts at serving us papers, But we have camera’s at our door and NOBODY has even attempted to come to our door.
We also called our lender and found out the name of the “real” company who has our debt.

This number calls my brother-in-law looking for me with a case number he said CV 20181 to 112 Fred Fred d o y n e MSN Legal Financial Services and medical don't know these people is this a scam saying about going to court don't know what this is about

It's a scam. Real process servers don't call in advance. They also can't take money to not serve you.

Not only can't they touch your tax return but they also can't garnish you without taking you to court - and winning.

Just got a call they called my office and everything what do I do
