- Celina| 1 replyGot a call from this # asking me to call them back about some documents they want me to sign today.
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Annette| 3 repliesI received a call from an "unknown" number saying that they tried to deliver documents to my home that required my signature and that I should call the company (AFS and associates) at 877-386-0036 and reference number 33596 to validate my address so they could re-attempt to deliver these documents.
- Caller: Someone on behalf of AFS and Associates
- B-Edwards replies to Annette| 2 repliesThis is the Document or Process Service Scam. You can look that up if you want to know more about how it works in detail.
- Legit businesses will have their name in your caller ID, they have nothing to hide.
- Process servers do not call ahead.
Don't call back - that will only keep them calling and the calls will become harassing and threatening. There is no percentage in talking to crooks. - Brenda Colbert replies to B-Edwards| 1 replyI got a call on my cell phones from an unknown number that instructed me to call them back at the 877-386-0036 and give reference number. I demanded that they tell me who they are and they said AFS and Associates but would not tell me anything else. Is this a scam?
- Brenda ColbertI got a call on my cell phones from an unknown caller instructing me to call 877-386-0036 AFS and Associates but they would not divulge anything without me giving personal information which I refused to give.
- Caller: AFS and Associates
- Brenda Colbert replies to CelinaI got the same call from a company calling themselves AFS and Associates but when I asked they refused to give me their address. They claim they have a pending action against me from a company called CashUSA who claims that I have a loan from them dating back to 2013. First of all CashUSA does not loan money; they set you up with companies that loan you money so that reeks of scam. It would be the company you got the loan from coming after you.
Second I have never done business with CashUSA and I did not have a bank account with the bank they claimed the funds were deposited in. All I know is that I am highly upset and worried - B-Edwards replies to Brenda ColbertFrom the info in prior posts this is either a Process Service Scam or a Phony Debt Scam.
- Process servers do not call ahead.
- A voice on the phone or a voicemail is NOT legal notice of a debt.
Do not call crooks back, that encourages them to lie and harass you. Be aware they will try using other numbers, so check your Caller ID before answering. - Nancy| 1 replyafs CALLED ME and said i owed money to some company, $625.00 and they are suig for 4. SMH people this is a scam lol!!!
- Caller: afs
- Call type: Debt collector
- MikeHuntleton replies to Nancy$625 down to $4 !! You must have got the call from the one scammer who never learned math and that is a very good deal if you really owed the money. I would have said to him/her, "ok you win, send me that $4". The dummy just might send it.....lol
