Someone called my cell phone claiming to be the CDC and the very first thing she want to do was verify that she had a reached a cell phone.  Huh?

Someone called my cell phone claiming to be a survey for "the CDC" and the first thing she want to do was verify that she had a reached a cell phone.
Started giggling when I said no.

Same number has been calling my daughter's cell. She didn't answer.

The same thing has been happening to me. I keep getting calls from this number. I missed the first call so I called them back & found I'd reached an automated message about taking a survey. I hung up & have continued to ignore all the subsequent calls from this number.

Called at 6:51 PM EST Jan 2. Caller ID says CDC SURVEY
Origin was 1-802-861-7713. The recording said she was conducting a survey on tobacco use for the CDC. That number is associated with many other scams - US Coast Guard, etc. It's a scam.

Continue to receive calls from this number and I called them back today to ask that I be removed from their call list.  The lady tried to keep me on the phone  by asking that I "hold" while she made sure my number was in their data base.  I finally told her I don't have time to spare and just said "Please take me off of your calling list or I will report you to the FCC" to which she started a speel about how I am being rude.  I just hung up on her.  This has to be a scam and not what they say it is, a CDC survey.
