This number called my house# 3 times (one right after the other) today. Caller I.D. said Private Name Private Number. Ok, well there's a clue this is a scam right there. Apparently the heifer got tired of pushing redial, so she finally left a (very scripted) message. In a very threatening tone this woman (who identified herself as Wanda Morris) says there are charges and a claim against me. Really? What kind of charges/claim? Well you got the right last name, but got the wrong first name. She then demands I call her back so I can give her my home and work address. Not once does she mention the "firm" she is supposedly working for - another red flag. She repeated this "case#" several times, and finally says "H**** Y****, you have been NOTIFIED".

Now here's the REALLY interesting thing - a couple weeks ago the SAME EXACT message was left, but it was for another name.

Folks - a legitimate business will identify themselves to you, not just the name of the person calling, but the company they are calling on behalf of. This is a scripted attempt to scare the person being called into providing information. DO NOT PROVIDE INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE!!! Don't even call back, as this may be seen as a way they can get around the "I don't have any business with these people, I did not contact them" requirement for scam reporting. REPORT THEM RIGHT AWAY!!!

Just found this interesting bit of info on this company, apparently the name is "Legal Helpers Debt Resolution LLC" and they are out of Irvine, CA. Folks, it looks like the try to scare you into thinking you have a lot of debt you won't be able to handle yourself, and they can help with your case/claim (which is why she used that phrasing in her message). Look at the reviews of the people they have scammed in the link I pasted, though.

Again, DO NOT GIVE INFO OVER THE PHONE!!!
