i called for an audition for it for 200 caller and they said they need to speak with perents to schuelle an audtion i wonder if i won

You won a chance to be scammed.

The way it works, you do the audition.  They tell you that you have potential and could become an actress or model, but you need classes they teach and professional photographs they shoot.  They charge you several thousand dollars but they make no effort to help you get a job.

are they allowed to actually advertise on the radio if it is a scam?

If they select the right words, if they don't lie in the ads, its legal.  

They can say "You will learn to model"  or "You will get the tools you need to become a model".  Thats not a lie.  They will charge you $$$$ for modeling classes and pictures.  If they say "we will help you get a job as a model" thats a lie and they can be arrested.  But they know that and won't say it.

For acting jobs they can say "we will teach you to act" and "we will help you find auditions".  They charge $$$$ for acting lessons.  They give you a list of Open Auditions, where anybody can walk in and audition.  Often those auditions aren't even in your area.  Thats legal.  If they say "we will become your agent and find you a job" thats a lie and they can be arrested.  Again, they know it and won't say that.  

As long as they promote themselves as a modeling school or an acting school they are legal.  They are counting on 17-year olds to not notice the details and fall for the scam.

I was totally scammed into thinking I had won an audition for a part on the Disney channel in a commercial or a TV show for no more then 2 family members. This was done by radio ad. The 1st 200 callers would "win" an "audition". I called the # 1-877-414-7622 and someone picked up and said I won and was the 87th caller. They asked for my kids names and birthdates and our phone number. Then quickly told us what time to be there (Which was only 2 days away) leaving no time whatsoever to plan for it as the place they wanted us to go was a hotel located in Philadelphia Pa (Crowne Plaza Hotel) in downtown Philly. This drive would of taken us over 2 hours.The person rushed off the phone as I was trying to find out more details about it. I came home and told my children about it and they were of course very excited. The more I thought about it the more I wondered if it could be a scam. So I went on the internet and found a few sites stating that this phone number was indeed a scam. NOW I have two very disappointed children who were so looking forward to trying out to have a part on the "Disney Channel" I feel bad for the people that will actually drive there, waste gas, and unknowingly set up there children for a big disappointment. These people need to be thrown in jail !!!

So glad I read this because I was scheduled for my 2 kids tomorrow.. I called the hotel to see if there
was auditons.. they said yes, but sounded very weary of giving information..
from what I read below, this is the same exact way I found it.. when I looked up auditions, i couldn't find anything from disney about coming to Philly... thank goodness I only told my 15 year old and not my 7 year old..

Glad I read all your comments because my daughter was scheduled to go to Crowne Plaza in Philadelphia today at 130. Thanks for the information so now I wont waste the gas or time to go there. My daughter really wants to try out for nickelodeon..ill just have to keep searching.
