To those concerned: check with the Revised Statutes of your State. My state has a length of time in which a debt collector must take legal action against you. If they continue to call after the the Federal and/or State Statutes of Limitations run out, you can send them a Cease and Desist Warning Notice. Be sure you call out specific the law of your state. Advise them it is against the State law for them to continue to call, right, or communicate with you as per those specific laws; and that failure to do so is in contempt of those laws.
Basically it is telling them they had their chance to do something to you about it but failed to do so within the allowed amount of time. Now it is to be considered as harassment.
I have done so and only one call has come through since I sent, FAXed, and e-mailed the corporate offices of the calling debt collectors. So far they have stopped. The aforesaid is a new case number. If the source is not repeated and I find the source I will be sending a Warning Notice as well. The Hunter has become the Hunted.
Good Luck and Good Hunting. Z-MAN- Caller: unknown at this time
- Call type: Debt collector
- KyWells Fargo said it was a courtesy call for my husband
- shellshellShe said she was calling about Wells Fargo Insurance. I was on the other line, so cut her off abruptly. I checked the caller ID (it said not provided), I then hit redial and it showed this number.
- Caller: Wells Fargo Insurance
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Jackie D.1/7/10 - Recd. call today which I called back later. From previous experience, (unfortunately) this call is a sales promotion call that stated that it related to Wells Fargo. It is probably from another company but did not give their name. It appears that Wells Fargo gives out the names of their customers to other companies. From what I read on the Internet, original customers of Wells Fargo were given an option whether or not they wanted this. I do no remember such a choice however. To option out of their system, you can dial the number yourself, listen to the prompts and take your no. out. It may take several weeks to take affect. This no. came onto my phone however, about a week after I optioned out of a previous 877 number related to fire insurance sales, that called almost every day at strange times. This is so annoying............
- Sick to death of Wells FargoI wish there was some way to get these jerks to stop calling. I have never had an account with Wells Fargo and I have told them this time and again, yet they keep calling! Ugh!
- Caller: Toll Free
- DianeCalled asked for me by my full name. When I said, "Speaking," she said, "Thank you" and nothing else. There was a lot of background noise, and since she didn't say anything else, I hung up.
- Laurence| 1 replyWe get harassed by this phone number also. Get a Panasonic-brand DECT 6.0 cordless phone. A person has up to 20 phone numbers you can block. From our side it rings once but the caller gets a busy signal. These a**holes can call all they want and they'll always get a busy signal. Thanks Panasonic. I only wish I could block 200 phone numbers rather than the paltry 20. Snaggums.
- PeggyMe too. Phone companies are no help. I have come very close to canceling our landline phone altogether, now that smartphones are so prevalent. Tell me, why do we need a landline when all the phone line seems to be is a target for telemarketers trying to suck us dry? Only when people cancel their landlines altogether will the phone companies see that it is in their best interest to give customers swifter technologies to combat this kind of crapola.
- tracyI received several calls from this number. I am a Wells Fargo customer, so the Do Not Call list doesn't apply. I signed on to my WF account online and went to Account Services, My Profile, Change Privacy Preferences, and selected NO for telephone contact. I haven't had any calls since I did this two weeks ago. Hope this helps someone else.
- Caller: Wells Fargo
- Call type: Unwanted
- Hope I'm Helpful replies to LaurenceLawrence, You can use your phone's capabilities in another way. If there are only a few people you do want to hear from, set the primary ring tone for your phone to silent (or to an unintrusive ring tone). Set the ring tone for the important numbers in your stored phone book to a different ring tone. Now the phone only rings for people you want to talk to. Not a perfect solution but now unlimited "blocked" numbers.
