This number just called on a Holiday saying my bank card has been canceled because of suspicious activity, I googled the number and it said it’s Scammers!

Bogus "call us as we have blocked Your card..."

Said someone made a purchase with my debit card so it was blocked... odd as I don't have a debit card 😆

Attempted Fraud.  My 'card' has been cancelled.  Which card, which financial institution?  Call them if you really want to get [***] over.

Catch this scum.  Send them back to where it came from.

As the others above.  Non specific card has non specific activity.  Call them back to be scammed.

as above - no introductory message about which card company/bank making call or for what card, simply that card cancelled and holder should call their number. Sad to think that, after all these years of same old, same old, they still may catch unsuspecting victims with this sort of thing.

Same as above - suspicious purchase, my debit card is on hold until I call them back. Which bank? Which card? Logged in to my accounts when I got home. All is well. Never ceases to amaze me that they actually scam some people with this crap!

Received call from this number but didn’t answer. They left a voicemail that only managed to catch the number. I blocked my number and called after hours to see what it was, and it was a recorded message purporting to be the CIBC. Yeah, right. NOPE. I don’t deal with the CIBC. SCAM. DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE BACK!

Forgot to mention…1-877-418-2846 is NOT the number for the CIBC. Another red flag? No option for assitance in French, which is required in Canada.

someone pretended to be one of my grandsons, saying he needs $5000 dollars immediately - i asked which grandson and the person hung up

Received a long distance call from 1-877-418-2846 on July 4th at 2:19 pm. Recorded call saying my CBIC account was needing something or other.  I hung up right away as I do not have a CBIC account.

I was awakened by call, after 11pm on July 4th.  It went to voicemail. The truncated VM said my card was being suspended.
