a gentleman called and wanted my place of employment and my name. Gave me a file number. Have no idea who he was.

"This message is for ..............(not my name). My name is Charles Jordan, contacting you in regard to a formal complaint that has been filed against you. In order to complete service of process, I need to verify your place of employment and alternate address.  Unfortunately, I have missed you by phone.  In the meantime, you have the right to contact the responsible party at 1-877-418-3935. Also reference the file number ..........  Failure to contact the responsible party may result in immediate delivery of some documents.  At this time, ........., you have have been officially notified."  

I called the company using #67. Neither of the two people I spoke to would give me the company name or their first name. They wanted my phone number, which I refused. I gave the reference number and asked for the prefix of the number that should have been called. Apparently Mr. Jordan misdialed the call as the prefix was one digit different from mine.

Got a call on my cell phone this morning & a voice mail.  Stated that the call was for me regarding an item returned from my bank.  Left a file number & said that they expected a call back from either myself or my legal representative.  I have had nothing returned to anyone from my bank so I refuse to call them back.

I got a call to call this number back showed up from 603-435-3925.  giving code number and about a returned check....called back just said it was an investigation office.  said to hold while they pull up info and waited on hold over 5 minutes hung up and called back.  said they had 2 minutes or I was calling the police for fraud and the guy said go ahead and put me back on hold.

Claimed to be about a returned item from my bank.  I have not had anything returned from my bank.  Also, the file number given was the same one that another law office had called with, saying they were getting ready to serve me with papers over a credit card bill for a credit card I had never had and told me they did not legally have to provide me with an account number when I asked for one to be sent to me to verify whether the debt was really mine.  I refuse to answer their calls.  If they want to really sue, I will deal with them then.

I got the same call regarding a my bank. only problem is I do not deal with banks. I have no checking account! Not calling back

Got aa call with a recording stating that I had a check returned to my bank.  If I have a check problem my bank will do an overdraft to avoid having to re-issue another check and the check will go through.  As far as I am concerned this is fraud and if they call back I will place a complaint with the FTC>

Called me and left a recorded message that I have a bounced check. I called back and the guy was a total jerk. It turns out to be for a payday loan that was opened with my stolen checks. He repeatedly threatened me with felony charges. I told him that I would have the police call him since the check was stolen. He did not like it knowing that he would not be getting paid.
