Called and left a message; mentioned I was the "contact reach" for a person I dated 15 years ago!  Said his name is Mark Prescot from the BWC Group.  I am married now and have two children.  Definitely don't want any association with "said" contact, nor need any more phone calls looking for him.

Claimed I needed to pay them money for a debt that had already been paid off. Told me I had no proof and that there was no way my bank would have a record going back over 2 years to prove (which they do. 10 years of transactions) Refused to give me contact info for the company, would not send me proof that I owed money and got very hateful when I asked if I could speak to someone else... aparenrly Chris is the only employee there, and there is nobody else to talk to. I can't find Bwc group as an actual company or there website. I'm going to rule this as a scam, and record the next phone conversation if they call back.

Refusal to give company information AND proof of the debt are violations of the FDCPA.

A family member got a call from a Chris Waters asking for me.  Thought it was real and tried to call but it sounds busy.  Thanks for this comment as I was worried about it actually being serious.  So, be wary of this number or a Chris Waters.

Apparently they have a new employee now, Trevor Linden, he has all the same catch phrases,i.e. "this is out of character for you" "Don't underestimate the importantce of this matter" "This is very serious". Sounded like a cop...then I find out he called my mother in law and brother from out of state, on the same day and got them all very concerned like I was some kind of criminal. Very hostile towards my family and very threatening sounding.....made me very angry. I will not return his message or answer any phone calls from his number....I just hope he tries to call my other brother in Italy, he's sure to get a severe tounge lashing...lol
