- Caroline HogstonThis number tracked down a sister that I have not spoken with in 7 years to relay a message that i had an outstanding payday loan and that they were going to take me to court. They even went as far as leaving a "docket number".
- Caller: BA Group
- rick8310these people called me and were asking if knew a Tommy Collins and that they were trying to send him some documents, who the fu** is Tommy collins and how did they get my name and #

- Casey| 1 replyI had a call form "Charles". Did not ask for anyone, but as soon as I answer went on with he had a summons to deliver in the next 24-48hrs I needed two valid forms of id and if at work a security supervisor would need to sign as witness. If he fails to deliver the summons I will have a warrant for my arrest as a failure to appear. He then went on to say if I had questions I needed to call the issuing party. The number he gave was the number he was calling from! I tried to ask for whim he was calling for and he re read what he just said, obviously reading a script he couldn't deviate from. Have no idea whom he wanted but I am not calling the number. If he thinks he will be at my house, go for it...he couldn't even tell me whom he was calling for. He did state he was from legal couriers.
- Caller: Legal couriers
- LeeGot the same msg from 'Charles' on my voice mail from the same number. Probably just another jerk trying to scam you into sending him money. Ignore him.

Next time they call, ask them 'How's the weather in India today?'. Because that's where you call is coming from. Ever watch the Fox tv show 'Cops'? Ever see a cop, or process server call you in ADVANCE? Enjoy the baseball.

If you are served your summons at work a supervisor will need to sign as a witness. Failure to sign may result in a miss court appearance. If you have any questions, you will need to contact the party that is filing against you at 1-877-418-8784.

- THAT GUY replies to So you think I'm dumbSo i just got about the 15th call form this DB. The funny thing is that they have YET to appear at my home, or employer, and my credit has NO such judgment. A creditor can move froward once they evidence their failed attempts to collect - REGARDLESS of a persons willingness to participate in the collection process, they will simploy place a judment - and you will never go to jail for it. So i tell this guy, with a big smile - GO FAKYOURSELF!!!

Wouldn't I be billed first, by a creditor, if I owed someone? Wouldn't I already know about a debt owing, if I had one? - Thomas replies to Scared as HeckI have received several of these messages also so I called Verizon to report it. The Verizon rep called the number and told me it is not a scam. I called the number and a man named Robert Curshaw said they are a legal outsourcing company and man times their phone numbers are incorrect. He took mine off their call list. If you continue to receive these. it is safe to call and have your number removed also. FYI kinda scared me at first too
- called by a jerk| 2 repliesSpoke with a totel jerk yesterday about an old credit card debt of my husbands he claims he can our checking account repo my car which is in my name and has nothing to do with this old debt and garnish wages all this for $4000 this nuts to put someone through this stress and to top it off I offered to set up a payment plan with him and claimed it was unacceptable. I didn't know debt collection companies could make threats like this. They even called my mother in law and discussed everything with her asking her to send the money in telling her they could take her property. Something just doesn't sound right about this.

- Alfalfa replies to called by a jerkThe Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
•is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
•refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
•asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
•exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
•Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
•Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
•Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
•Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

- NevermindGot message at my office from Charles warning of summons for me, etc. -- I called the # without giving any info, spoke with Robert Curshaw of Legal Outsourcing, he didn't ask my name but ran the phone number through their records & and turns out they were looking for the employee who last had this phone number, who I happen to know left a trail of bad debt.

- JamesI received a missed call from this #, they left me a voice mail. I called the # back just to f--k with them. The guy said if I failed to respond then a warrant would be issued for my arrest. I told the dips--t to go ahead & put out a warrant for my arrest. He said a U.S. Marshall would come & arrest me. I told the dumba-- to go ahead & contact them seeing how the U.S. Marshalls Office Only Track Down & arrest felons. 1st. Off you can't be arrested for failing to pay an outstanding debt, only arrested for criminal offenses. Stupid F---s are just trying to get you to pay an outstanding debt that is probably about to drop off of your credit. F--K them!!!!!
- Sandy| 1 replyMy husband got the same message but when we checked our credit report we don't show a debt for this company. Plus when Charles LM he didn't even mention the name of the person he was calling for!! Plus a Sheriff comes and summons you to court and does not call a head to let you know hes coming. SCAM
