The caller said someone had "filed a complaint" against me. Have me a file number and a phone call. I'm pretty sure it's a scam trying to get me to pay money to keep from going to jail.

called three times in 2 minutes.

Called 3 times in 2 minute and left a message with my full name saying a complaint has been filed against me. To call back using a 5 digit reference number. They also called my aunt leaving the same number.

I got the same thing. But they called my job. They will tell you it's a legal matter and give them your address and tell them that they have not been able to serve you with documents at that location. They says they are from your county office and mention the county, which they obviously get from your address, and give a filing number. The caller was obviously not from USA, sounded Indian or Middle Eastern.

They called my cell phone saying a package was being attempted to be delivered, but it was returned. The package is from CF & Associates. She verified my address and it was correct. She asked me to give them a call and gave me a tracking #, but it just seemed fishy.

The caller had my full name...including my middle name which I do not use.  They said it was an attempt to reach Jeremy - with the same last name - and that someone had filed a complaint against him and that it was urgent that he contact them at this number immediately and gave a reference number.  They also stated if he did not contact them, that the "Department" would have to proceed against him.  Doesn't identify what "department" they are with.  Since I do not know a Jeremy - I know this is a scam.

Received a call from these scammers today. They said that I am going to be charged with financial fraud. I told them to send me a statement which is required under the FDCPA. They hung up.

Called me and said this message demands the attention of a guy's name. I'm a woman and don't know the man they are talking about. The only thing in common is the same last name. Said this message is proof of serving and they will be forced to proceed without my consent. Didn't leave a name, only a file number and a call back number.

They have asked for money or i would be turned in and a warrent would be issued

Today, they just called my grandmother asking for about a package, but I am not expecting a package. I have not called them back.

Called about a claim against me

They did all of the above.  I ran my credit with all three bureaus last month and knew they were lying.  I said so to Derrick Johnson, the guy who had my "case" .  He became very upst when I called him on it and hung up.  I called back but wasn't allowed to speak with a supervisor.  I asked where they were located. They're supposedly located in CA.  CA has some major telemarketing and scam laws.  So I filed a complaint with the Attorney General of that State and the FCC for wire fraud.  I'm also filing a complaint with the CA Bar Association because they represented themselves as attorneys saying this was a legal matter and they would pursue the litigation they had already started.
