- BillPerson who self-identified as "Chase" claimed to have a Court Complaint on his desk - and I should immediately call him back and he gave a case number. I called the number and talked to someone very rude who said they don't have anyone named 'Chase' - and he had no idea how I even got his 877 number: "that doesn't show up on outgoing calls. WTF?
- Caller: Chase
- Call type: Debt collector

- MS| 6 repliesThese people are scammers and rude. Someone named Evan left a message for me about a $221 balance on a credit card that was discharged in a BK many years ago. They were unbelievably rude (accusing me of fraud, theft, etc.) and they violated every debt collection law that exists. I'm reporting them. They threatened to show up at my home "tomorrow" to serve me with a court summons. I welcomed them to show up and they hung up on me. Horrible. Just horrible.
- Caller: C&G Mediation
- Call type: Debt collector
- JojoI received a PC from 202-448-8928 also stating he had a formal complaint & summons on his desk to call the 877-430-4045 by the Dave-rude & short. No ID of his company just that I had been "officially notified". I don't have anything to be in question of. And the number he left to call is a lawyer that handles bankruptcy...which I don't need. Please!!
- Caller: No identification
- Call type: Debt collector
- JohnI got a call and I forgot about the debt so I paid it and it came off my credit I am so happy!

- IntelbabeSo, I get a call from 202-448-8928 who left a recorded voice message stating "there is a complaint about me and to call 1-877-430-4377". I call the 1-877 number and some young uneducated guy answers the phone telling me that he is following me and that I've committed fraud all over the country. Then I could hear another young guy in the background telling him what to say next. I obviously knew this was a scammy fraud call to begin with, but just for fun I had to keep listening to these two morons. He goes on to say that I'm a loser who doesn't like to pay my bills etc. this is becoming more hysterical by the second. He really had issues forming a complete sentence even though I know he's from the United States. All I have to say is, is if you get a call from this number, just block it. It's fraudulent and they are trying to scare people into giving them money. Move on and know this is not legit.
- CK| 11 repliesI spoke with multiple individuals about an amount that I maintain I do not owe. To be clear, I am a licensed attorney (one of them hung up after I told him this). It was immediately apparent that these people have no clue how a claim moves through the courts and they use scare tactics like "see you in court" -- the kind of language that borders on FDCPA noncompliance. They tend to contradict themselves in the course of one phone call. They also will not provide me with their address. Either their legitimacy is questionable or they need to hire people who are better at their jobs.
- Caller: C&G Mediation
- Call type: Debt collector
- Donald replies to CK| 10 repliesWhat exactly did they say when you said you did not owe this? Because saying you do not owe does not give us an explanation as to why you do not owe it. They should find the reason behind that and give you the proper steps to getting your credit back on track/getting this debt resolved, because your info did not land in our office illegally, nor is it zombie or fake
- Slim replies to Donald| 8 replies>> Because saying you do not owe does not give us an explanation as to why you do not owe it. <<
Um ..
You have it backwards!
According to the FDCPA, it is the debt collector who must prove a supposed debtor owes them money. Also, a phone call, email, fax, or text message is NOT legally sufficient proof of debt.
So, Poster CK is correct, and you may be a shill.
>> your info did not land in our office illegally, nor is it zombie or fake <<
YOUR office?
Since you claim it is your office, please answer the following questions:
1. Who are they? What is their full, legal name
2. What is their legal address (no box numbers)
3. Where is their website?
4. In what states are they licensed?
If you do not answer these questions, you will be considered to be nothing more than a shill for that phone number.
We eagerly await your reply, the lack of which strongly suggests you are a shill for that phone number.
~~~~~~~~ - Donald replies to Slim| 6 repliesI dont post our information due to false complaints that may arise on a site like this, sorry, call me a shill I guess... But I can tell you that they are trained to figure out what happened and why the person fell behind so they can try to negotiate terms for payment plans or settlements and when someone doesnt give us insight to help them.
Unfortunately, if someone does not remember the debt over the phone it is not in the best interest of the business to send a letter - if you saw the ratio of pays when we send letters to people who do not remember the debt you would see a very very low number (actually its negative, we lose $) - in which case we just say, ok if they want to pay they will check their credit and pay it when they can we cant waste anymore resources. Which is exactly why "fingerhut" isnt collecting the debt themselves - because the person went over 90 days delinquent already so fingerhut didnt want to waste resources and money. Thats how collections works. Every collection agency gets to waste money on people who will never ever pay, but we try our best to work with everyone. - MJG replies to DonaldNO - you do not post information since you do not want anyone (like law enforcement) to know where you are.
JOKE OF THE DAY - "If someone does not remember the debt over the phone it is not in the best interest of the business to send a letter". Now why would that be??? Guess you never heard of the FDCPA. See my first comment. - Donald| 2 repliesOk I am looking. Thank you.
- CWG40 replies to Donald| 2 repliesHow about a location for this C & G "Mediation". You know of course, that the term "mediation" is scammer doublre-talk for debt collector. You should know that no matter what you call yourself, if you are asking for money because of a debt, you're a debt collector. And you are still subject to FTC rules.
🔼 Debt collector shill - Donald replies to CWG40| 1 replyThank you for bringing it up, we frown upon the word mediation so if it was said it was in the context of negotiation, not our business name.
- Slim replies to Donald>> Unfortunately, if someone does not remember the debt over the phone it is not in the best interest of the business to send a letter <<
Um ... so you admit that it is not in your best interest to obey the law?
Are you merely an ignorant shill or a troll who wants to get attention?
(I suspect the latter ... and your future posts, if any, will prove it one way or the other)
Lurkers:
A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:
Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money. ["Written" means snailmailed - US Mail ... not emailed or texted]
Source:
https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection
Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via Green Dot, MoneyGram, Western Union, prepaid gift card or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.
IF you wish to communicate with the supposed collector / creditor, visit the following page, for example "Action Letters" to snailmail:
http://www.consumerfinance.gov/blog/debtcollection/
If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0258-fake-debt-collectors - Gunnar replies to DonaldLet me save you some trouble here "Donald". It IS your outfits best interest to send out those letters. If you were legitimate you'd have no choice. You'd have 5 business days after first contact with those supposed debtors to send them a notice of validation BY MAIL.
Of course, we all know that you're NOT legitimate. That's why you're not giving us your valid, physical address & that's why you're trying to feed us the same old lines of BS that all bogus/fraudulent debt collectors do.
There's always the possibility that you're a low budget JDB I suppose. Make no mistake "Donald"! Around here we make no distinction between one scoundrel or another. One bottom feeder buys one kind of trash, another buys another kind of trash. We can deal with either type & we're more than happy to prove it. Do you think you're up to taking us on here "Donald"? Bring it on!
Skeff Ett Liv!
Gunnar - Yoda1725 replies to DonaldHi Donald,
If the name of your "company" is C&G Mediation, is there any reason why I am unable to find it online? Perhaps you can help us? Are you not proud of the company you work for? You should have no difficulty in providing any of the information that Slim asked for, right?
