- Phyllis| 1 replySupposedly based in WI. Strange all around!
- MikeHuntleton replies to PhyllisThe only thing strange is you posting that "something'", that we have to use our imaginations to figure out, is "based in Wi." and that could be anything.
I did what you should have done in the first place and that is to find out who might have called from this number. I found this recorded message:
Listen to messageQuote:This is the BMO Harris bank Fraud Service Center at 877-435-2371 with an important message for....name.... press 1 to continue in English, press 2 for Spanish (in Spanish)... Hello, this message is for ....name.... We are calling on behalf of BMO Harris bank, they have authorized us to call you concerning recent charges to your BMO Harris bank debit card. Its important that you return this call so that we can clarify the concerns we have regarding these debit card charges. Please contact us by calling 877-435-2371, alternatively, you may call the phone number found on the back of your BMO.....
Sounds authentic, but scammers can also be very convincing they are the real Bank or Fraud Company hired by a Bank. It is always best to call the number on the back of the card. - post pending moderator approval
- Meagan FagaStated we had a debit card that is now on hold due to fraudulent activity. We do not have a BMO debit card
- Caller: Bmo
- DFThis message was left through our business phone, which I thought was extremely odd and a red flag. Why wouldn't they call my cell phone listed on the account if there was a problem. I didn't call it back, I instead called my local branch. She informed me that everything was OK regarding my debt card.

- VerifiedThis number is part of a scam attached to the "FREE MESSAGE" alleged to be from my bank. The text messages I pre-authorized to receive from the bank will never say they will call you. If you answer the text in any way, the scammer calls you. The bank will NEVER call you in response to a text message, even if it is valid text. That they will call you is a dead giveaway this is a scammer.
- Caller: Scammer w some banking info but not enough to access my account and phishing

- Meghan replies to MegSometimes banks use third party security firms and the number from which they call might not correspond to the known bank numbers. However, it is always best to call the number on your bank card instead. If there is a security problem the bank will have that information. Numbers can be spoofed. Better safe than sorry. :-)
