It says "800 Service" on the caller ID

It said Unavailable on caller ID.  I also make myself "unavailable" if you are ashamed of your on ID and will not show it on a caller ID.  Hence, I only answer calls when the caller if Identified on my ID and I know who you truly are.  Too many scams out there.  None of these scammers leave a message.  They also keep changing phone numbers.  I now have turned of the ringer, so I am not bothered by the phone ringing. I see the ID on my TV or on the phone when I check once a day.  Most people just ignore these pests.

I got a call that came through on Caller ID as "118774519365" and "NAME NOT FOUND." Those numbers can logically parse out to 11-877-451-9365. Interestingly, 011 is the "exit code" that must be dialed in the U.S. before dialing any international number, but the leading zero is mandatory, meaning that "11" is just not a valid prefix for anything.

Bottom line: not only is this Caller ID number obviously spoofed, but by making it 12 digits long instead of the normal 10 digits, the criminals originating these calls made it impossible to enter the number into most telecom carriers' Call Block lists because, stupidly, these lists will only accept standard 10-digit phone numbers.

Added note: just got another call from these scambags... this time the Caller ID said "800 SERVICE" (like that could possibly be the name of an actual business or person) and the number displayed as "18774519365." I'm going to block the number, which should stop them until they change numbers again.

This phone number is linked to Ace Insurance services. They are linked to several mortgage companies and try to sell you homeowner warranty insurance as well as other products. I was getting 2 to 3 calls a day from them. Finally called them back and told them not to call me per my rights under FOTI LAW. We'll see what happens.
