Has a number on the check to call 877-455-4778 FRAUD CALLER BEWARE THEY WILL STEAL YOUR INFO IF YOU CALL THEM BACK.  Take it to your bank 1st verify!

They didn't call me, but this number was on my check. It seems legit, I called and asked what  it was for. Its a return of a copay from my doctor's office (whom she called by name). I am going to call my doctor to confirm. It drawn on Wells Fargo, it's in tiny print.

I have a suspicious-looking refund check for two bucks from this outfit.  I called the number numerous times and each time I got a "call forwarded" notice on my phone display, along with a short ring back, indicating that the number to which this number is forwarded was ringing. After about 40 seconds with no answer I got a disconnect.  Is there another number for these people?

Yesterday I received the same sort of refund check that you mentioned.  I haven't called the number (same number you listed) in fear that it is a scam. The check is drafted from Wells Fargo (tiny print) as you stated.  I do not have an account with Wells Fargo, but I thought about taking it to them and verifying if it is legit.   I was wondering if you have had any issues since you cashed yours?

A check would not have the bank name in real tiny print.  It also needs to have all those numbers on it, not just the routing number and account number.  The person you are looking to for advice is possibly one of the scammers sent here to misinform people.  Also, unless they happen to come back, they will never know you asked them a question.

Thanks, BigA, interesting concept of the person on here possibly being in on the scam.  I guess you really can't trust anyone. So my advice to others who receive a check like this is to do some research.  Call your doctor's office.  If it is a legitimate check, they will have something in their records.

If the check turns out to be fake, take it and the envelope it came in to the post office and have them forward it to the postal inspectors.

No idea what to think of this...they sent me a check for 400.01 in the mail, states it was a refund for overpayment on my account at a doctor's office....kinda crazy.....kinda scared to cash the check....haven't tried calling the number yet, as I'm unsure if this is just a scam to find active phone numbers......400.01$ sounds real enticing.....but when I deposit the check, they will then know I'm "alive" I suppose...

I have reason to believe it was the payment towards my wife's medical bills for delivery of our child....that they then decided to send to collections.....

I got one too.  I think what they are trying to get is your banking information.  When deposited,it will show all your banking info on the check.
