I got a call at my work stating that I had until 3 pm to contact them or Im going to be arrested.  The caller wanted all my info for a past debt that we had, which was paid off.  Then proceded to tell me that I need to pay the 200 dollar filing fee...YEAH RIGHT!!!

Exactly what is going on with me. They called me today, gave me an hour to pay, or else. It's been 2.5 hours now, and no signs of any law enforcement. Call their bluffs, they're just extortionists.

What's the person's name that keeps calling u? Does the number come up "unknown"

yep just another scammer, they called me a little while ago saying they are doing a background check on a friend of mine need some info,,nope!

Contacted them back with my lawyers information to contact so the matter could be resolved ... lady yelled at me and hung up on me! SCAMMERS

Received a message from an UNKNOWN number, which was an Investigative Detective stating they are trying to locate me. So I call back the number provided 877-460-1756 with no luck. They answer the phone saying "Investigations." Since the lady left no name on the message, I tell the woman who answered that I'm returning a phone call. They ask for my name and transfer me to the person handling the case. Once the next woman answered, I give her my name again and ask what this is about. She asked me to hold to pull up case file. However, before putting me on hold, I asked what company she was calling from and what was her badge number since she was an "Investigative Detective." This woman had the nerve to tell me that I don't have the right to question her. I turned around and said, "excuse me? You're calling me and telling me that I have an outstanding debt and I can't ask you anything about it?" She then proceeded to tell me "I don't have to deal with you and you can take this up with your Sheriff's office who will be there to serve me my papers with an attached warrant for my arrest," then hung up the phone. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor to get to the bottom of this and at least find out what this outstanding debt is that they're referring to. I got transferred to the same disrespectful woman who is of no help. So needless to say, I got no information on what this outstanding debt is regarding and hung up on twice. I can't help anyone or any company who doesn't want to use anything else but strong arm tactics!!!!!!

These people have been calling family and friends saying because they answered they will now ne charged. Then they called me and left two messages saying if I did not call them by 5:30pm they would call the police to arrest me. I called the police who said it was probably a scam. I called and talked to Paige who tranferred me to rebecca who both sounded the same. Then when I asked what it was about she told me she can halp me cause I called back to late and I informed her I called the police. Rebecca stated that was great cause they will becoming to arrest me. Well I told her the cops called her and know nothing. She wanted names. Then got a call from the cop who stated that she called him back and they argued and she hung up. Really stop harrassing me and people around me.

I wouldn't worry about your callers - they're scammers and can't do diddly squat to you.

I contacted my attorney to help me resolve this matter (after the day before I received the call with the threat I would be detained). We got on a 3 way call because the lady at this place said she would not call out to my attorney. When called, this lady yelled at my attorney and hung up. We tried calling back again from different office numbers and were either sent directly to voice mail or hung up on. A legal debt collector would not behave in this manner. They would calmly talk to us and try to resolve and settle the matter.

This is obviously a SCAMMER with some fancy wording trying to scare and threaten people into paying debts that are no longer owed or due.

Their practices are not ethical and border on illegal. I urge anyone to collect as much information on them as possible: when they call, who's calling, what for, etc... If it continues, file a civil suit against them. Let's bust this fraud.

Glad to hear you called their bluff and thanks for posting the follow up information here.  Any chances these scammers gave you the allegedly name of the company, a physical address, e-mail address, and.or website that you might be willing to post here.  If so I'm sure some of the regulars would be more than happy to follow up on it and flush them out

The caller's name is Savannah Grant, she has called me from 3 different numbers now, and using 2 different company names. 877-460-1576, 888-244-3381, and 888-609-3074. Used company names: Piedmont Investigations and Nationwide Asset and Recovery. Over 24 hours has past since my deadline to pay, still no sign of any officer coming to arrest me, for failing to pay them on a debt that I had already paid off...

I received a very forceful message where the individual introduced themselves as an Officer Lorraine Davis...they made no indication of what police department or county they are allegedly filing in. They also stated they would be seeking the assistance of the Sheriff's department to issue a warrant for my arrest, yet gave no information on which Sheriff's department.

My mother called this number to inquire about the department they were calling from and they stated it was NOT a law enforcement agency and they refused to give information about their company.

Don't fall for this. They are mean and nasty and will harass you if you don't give them the information they want or if you question where they are calling from and what for.

These people just called my father and told him that he would have an a felony issued for his arrest if he dont pay them 800 dollars so its a scam my local police departmentloked them up and know they are a scam and so is utah

Lady called me saying she was investigator and I needed to go to walmart and buy a gift card with $300 on it to pay them money I owed from cash advance a few years ago. I told her I didn't know anything about it especially since cash advance loans are illegal in NC. She told me she was at the sheriff's office right then and for me to pull my car over because they were coming to arrest me. I again told her she couldn't practice collection efforts in NC for cash advance and I didn't get one so I didn't owe her any money, I also told her a relative works for sheriff's office and they can't arrest you for not paying a debt only civil suit. She got very mad and started yelling at me and hung up.

I got 2 VERY rude voicemails from this number trying to collect a debt or they will call the Sheriffs Dept. and issue a warrant for my arrest if i dont call back in an hour then it was 10 minutes.

these people tried calling using all of the stuff people mention below. called work, wanted to talk with supervisors, called relatives, same thing warning of pending arrest , felony BS. since all the posts to this number are from January this year, I am guessing that they are the same company that's tried this with me for a few  years now, just change their name and number and try the same tactics again. DONT FALL FOR ANY OF THIS. they have zero jurisdiction. its all a big bluff and will go away eventually. then open a new company and start this same BS all over again. what worked for me is to call after hours, and leave a message saying " this is MR or Mrs. xxx and the date and that you are recording this call and have there other call recorded. tell them you know they have no case and to cease and desist all further contact.

don't fall for it, its a scam and complete BS.

Call from 877-460-1576 stating she was Investigator Brown with Nationwide Asset and Recovery and said I need to get your statement before the Franklin County Sherrifs serve me papers.  They called my Dad whom I've never listed on anything I've purchased since BIRTH.  Called my human resources department who stated if they call back, they would have to give them my address in my building.  I called them back, but they will not give any information about what debt this is but I need to pay.  PAY WHAT? I've submitted numerous complaints to the Attorney General as this is getting out of hand, but to no avail because they won't return their calls.  The phone number given was 678-496-2583 ext 1003.  The worse thing I did was apply to a blanket set of lenders for a paydayloan last year and it's been on and popping every since.  They want free money, clearly to goodness they know I'm broke! dugh!!

I  got a call from this number and 2 minutes later from National Credit Adjusters. They are the one and the same.877-460-1576 talked to me at first it was concerning a payday loan my ex husband and his girlfriend had gotten in my name in Texas. I live in Wyoming. Today I called for more information the lady screamed at me told me to pay my f...ing bills. NCA has the account! Mystery solved! I suggest as I did file a complaint with the FTC and other fair credit reporting and collections.They have called threatened my family and myself. threatening them jail time. Together we can stop them!.
