Just got a call and same thing as what everyone posted too.

Exactly the same experience. I don't even have a credit/debit card with that bank.

I received a call from the same number 1-877-463-7786. At the end, they say if you're calling outside the US to call 1-716-895-4786. Google indicates that # is associated with an M&T Bank branch located at Camellia Broadway Market Outlet, 999 Broadway, Buffalo, NY 14212.
Perhaps my phone # was an incorrect entry and that's why I received an automated call.

My babe just received this call on the cell.  Didn't return the call and since neither of us has ab M&T account...we didn't call back.  Scam.

The con artists are most likely using that number as part their scam.

I just got the call too.  Wanted me to enter my card number upon call back,  to "remove hold from my account." Don't think so.

Received computer message from M&T bank - saying there may be a hold on your debit card account -  press 1 if you are the holder of this card, if not please call 877 463 7786.  Message was difficult to hear.

Same thing happened to 3/4 of our phone numbers on our account. Anyone that this happened to have verizon wireless?

Got a call from (877) 463-7786 on my cell.  Said there was a possible problem with my M&T card - that it might be "on hold".  I called back on my home phone, got an "out of service" response.  Called back on my cell, got a very official recording from "M&T Bank", asking me to enter my 16-digit number.  I think not.  I don't have an M&T card.  This is a phishing scam - they want your card #.  Hang up.

I have Verizon Wireless.  Same call, same problem, same fraud.  Hung up.

There was more on my message. Said to call 716-895-4786. That's Buffalo NY. I don't even have accounts with M&T.

got call says it M&T bank  i dont have an account with  them so i know its a scam..then i called bank  dont give any info

I am not an M&T Bank customer!  However, I received a call on my mobile phone requesting me to call 877-463-7786 concerning a hold on my debit card.

received call from this # 877-463-7786 @:12 pm  on my cell phone - same message as stated here by-   supposed hold on my M&T account (which I don"t have) - spring is here and all the scams start to show up with the blossoms ! be wary and be your own best defense! NEVER,NEVER,NEVER EVER give out any personal information to any unsolicited phone calls!!!!!!!!

I just received the same call from "M&T"??? I don't even have an account with them. I went online to my bank and they had alerts about these calls...

Same m&t recorded message when call was picked up as others rec'd on here.

Just verified with m&t that it was a scam.

Not a m&t customer either!

Scam right off the bat.   I do not use M&T bank.   Have reported the number to local and state authorities.    And the FBI.
