I recieved a call about a gov grant and they told me i could get 3000.00 put into my banking account. I told them I know how scams work and I was not giving any info until I checked them out. When I looked up the number it was a scam. do not give out any info to these people.

My husband also received a call from this number but he unfortunatly gave them info.  We will have to wait and see how far this goes.

I received a call from this number and told me that I coud get 3000 dollars put into my bank account. Because I'm not yet familiar with the scam, I gave my information.  And you know after a couple of weeks, lots of fraud scam from my account happened.  Five times my account had deducted 299.95 for almost everyday.  Good Bank of America returned that money to me because I made a dispute.  Whoever will call you and say that you are granted a U.S government grant, dont accept it. It's really a big scam you will ever regret.  When I tried to call the number it's a Galaxy Member Benefit.  I dont know if that man who called me up is really connected with this company.Probably, that's the one way of getting customers.

This happened to me too.  I've contacted my bank.  Could you tell me the name of the company that withdrew the funds from your account?  Was it Gaxaxy? I'm trying to be proactive in handling this matter.

i too was told that i would be recieving 2500.00 in my bank account from my irs dept...from taxes and unfornatly it was a scam and i have had 120.00 taken from my checking account!!! i have tried calling they toll free number abd spend up to 50 mins on hold!!!!

I was called twice in two days and fell for it the first time... the number was from out of the country +449043426602 and +41943426602 The first time they said I was gettinig money back for paying my taxes on time without a criminal record. I was like ok I kind of need the money right now, so i was like ok. Then the next day a different person called telling me the same thing. I said why are you calling me twice I already have a confirmation number, then they just hanged up. Thats when i said to myself " I just got scammed".

I recieved a similar call yesterday and unfortunately I gave them all information. I was told that the amount of $3000 will be transferred to my account because Govt want to return some amount from your tax and after 3 days 299 $ will be taken out for charity but it will not reduce your balance but it will be deducted from this 3000 $. I dont know what is going to happen and really so much worried. Right now i am calling my bank in order to discuss this matter with them. Please if you receive any of this call just tell them that you want to confirm first dont take the stupid step like me.

A man who claimed his name was Justin Cooper called from this number also claiming to be from the Government Grants Department in Washington, D.C.   He said I was due $3500 in grant money. When I asked for the address to his building he got nervous and asked why.  I told him "research".  He said, "do your research" and promptly hung up. I ended up here.  Don't give them any information but try to get at much out of them as possible.  Be extra nice, lead them on, do whatever you must, but document it all.

I too received a call from this number and gave them my address and name of my bank and told them to mail it to me. I caught on before I gave them any more info. I scary part was that they new my precious address. Do you have any info for me? THanks

I also received a call but the number show up as a local number 503.. I also gave out my info thinking that this is tax time and I had spoken to several people telling me the same info... They said they would depost 500.00 in my account for three months so I will see what happens and cross my fingers...

these people just called me and i gave them the info because i was supposed to get 4200.00 in my account in 5 days, now i read this and things aint looking good, we put a stop on the acount an hour after they called but the damage might already be done! the number was 1-877-464-0444

a man called me sounds like he was in india and told me i was getting 3000 deposited into my bank account for tax return for paying my taxs on time i gave him my info but no money was deposited!!!!i will see what happens

I just got a call on my cell phone about receiving 5300 for paying my taxes on time. I was tired when I recieved the call and I was driving being preoccupied by the traffic jam also. I unfortunatlely was nt paying atttention and gave them my date of birht and I believe I cofirmed my address. Aslo, not too long ago I applied for a government grant and thought it was the government confirming my application. He said his name was James Murphy. He is accent was very strong and he sounded Arabic. I still was not particularly leery because EVERYTHING  is outsourced these days:( Anyway, when he asked for my bank and I told him, he did not know about Wells Fargo. Plus he asked for my checking acount number and I said I didn't feel comfortable about giving my personal information on the phone out. Plus, Please be aware of these scammers! Very Sad! Especially for the situation the world is in as far as financially.
