This is a dangerous scam.  I got a private caller block, however I got the voicemail.  My spouse got the same call.  The company Process Servers Dispatch, caller names Melanie.  They referenced my ex spouse from 20 yrs ago needed to call them.  Yes, I have had my cell # for 30 yrs plus, but how they had my spouse's phone number is very troubling.  T-Mobile is the provider. Although my cell service blocked the call, they were still able to leave a voice message.  Be scared... be very scared...

Who should anyone be scared about the fake process server scam? All they have to do is not fall for it.

Said it was a legal matter for a case.

Claim to be a law firm had my name and company I used to work for

They called me and when I started asking questions the guy kept just over talking me and talking down to me and also kept repeating my personal information.  It was crazy.  Scare tactics.  Never once asked for my current address... so oh well... not worried but it was annoying.

A female caller said she is a process server on behalf on Johnston Law Group. She used my old address and phone which i have for years. she said that i have 20 minutes to call 877 464 0520 or else the law firm will go ahead and proceed against me. She also wanted me to be home with 2 forms of ID to give me some paperwork!!!

They had all my information , even my social security number ... car information... address... and a charged off account. they are threatening to take me to court and to take my car.  I thought they were a debt collection agency but when i looked closer at the letters they sent me, their address is not real. It needs a suite number in order to be in that location.  I called people from the real JOhnston Law group and they said that folks keep calling them about debt collection , and they do not deal with that. I foolishly paid them half of the amount owed , but someone told me not to give them my main debit card, just a spare one that i sometimes put money on.  I called capital one and they gave me a different collection agencies number. There is someone by the name of Salazar who answers the phones too. I feeel stupid for falling for them the first time but glad i am looking into this further.
