I received a snailmail letter with a Chase Bank letterhead, saying that I had submitted a credit card application and asking me to call 877-470-9042.  I had submitted no such application.  Strongly suspect a scam.

Real number. This is their fraud dept. If you recently applied for a Chase credit card they want you to call and confirm your identity. If you didn't apply for a card, just ignore it.

Received a letter in the mail which looked fairly official. When I opened it I believed it to be from Chase Fraud Department. When I started reading the letter some suspicions were aroused. If this had been genuine they would have called, emailed or sent a text message to call them. This is a scam getting you to call them, answering the phone as Chase and then gleaning more information from you. Do not call this number back and do not answer the call if it displays this number as the origination. If the Fraud Department of any company was to call you, they would NEVER ask you for any personal information.

Received letter but didn’t apply for the card!!!! Definitely a scam!!! Watch out!!!

This is a scam number that tries to get your Social Security number. Purportedly from Chase bank for a credit card. It’s totally 100% a scam.

Yes do not fall for this. same thing happened to me. do not give out your SS it is a scam
