I also got charged on my credit card for receiving a supposedly free credit report.  They say they disclosed a monitering fee unless I called to cancel, which I did today.  This is terrible business.  Don't let them get away with it. While holding for a supervisor, they disconnected me.

I chose a free credit report option on the internet.  I did not sign up for anything.  I was charged on 10/10 and 11 /10 for 12.95 each time on my credit  card.  I am trying to call the number and I spoke with an operator.  They cancelled the subscription but did not delete the charges. They did ask for the credit card info in order to cancel. I will have my credit card company change my account to make sure that nothing else bad happens.

It is free credit report.com....... they say if you dont cancel your membership in 30 days they will charge a monthly fee..... by signing up for free credit report.com you instiantly become a member and they need your credit card number to run the report... so thats how they get your credit card number...

I called and was EXTREMELY IRATE with them and then they accessed my account via an email adress because I refused to give them my card number again... they then told me there would be a refund of the money in 7 to 10 days and I would get 2 email confirmations.

they also said that in 2 different places it tells you that you will be charged in a month if you don't cancel the membership..... I only acessed the account on the website once so they canceled the membership for me and promised a refund.

    we shall see!

ps I smell a class action lawsuit!

I was scammed by these people online. I went online to obtain a FREE yearly credit report from Experian (this company misrepsents itself as Experian).  When you open an account - IN WRITING ON THE WEBSITE, they state they need a credit card number that "will not be charged" and you need to supply a credit card number for "identity verification purposed ONLY". LIES. I called my credit card company and they told me I would have to cancel through this CIC Triple Advantage, tell them to refund my money, and they gave me a number to call since I had no clue who they were and had no contact information.  They said I have to try and resolve it first, and if I don't get anywhere I can file a dispute.  I did call and got someone who could barely speak English, was extremely RUDE, and when I asked for my money to be refunded or to speak to a supervisor who could refund it, she hung up on me.
I filed a complaint with the FTC.
Also, just for more information, I found a website http://www.complaintsboard.com/ where there are HUNDREDS of complaints against them.  They are rated the worst of the worst.
I am also going to have to close my credit card account or have them issue a new number because I can't trust these scammers won't take more money even though my account is "supposed" to be cancelled.

well I see a lot of complaints over this particular online scam and I am just glad that all I had to do was notice the charge on my checking statement online today April 16, call Wells Fargo phone bank and they are doing all the work for me. They filed a fraud report on my account, gave me a confirmation # and stopped pay at no charge to me, the $14.95 charge that was posted today, and I happened to notice I had two other $14.95 charges for Feb 19 and March 17 as well. Somehow I had not noticed this before. However Wells Fargo is going to take care of it. I did a FREE EXPERIAN credit report online a few months ago and apparently seeing these other complaints, that is where it originated. I don't recall having to ever put in my debit card # though.  Wells is issuing me a new debit card too so now the bills I pay online I will have to supply the new # for them but if I did not know it before, I know it now. Wells Fargo is one of the safest most secure accounts to have. This was easier than in the past, filing a dispute on a credit card over ten years ago.

My advice to anyone else experiencing this NOW is to just contact your bank or creditors at once and request they help you file a fraud report. I don't even want to call this CIC Triple Advantage. The last thing I need is to work up a headache trying to explain this to them and then like someone said, they disconnect you or tell you they don't issue refunds. That is all bullcrunch.

When Wells Fargo asked me if I would like to press charges against this company, after having done a Yahoo keyword search on Triple Advantage 877-4816825 CA and seeing all the complaintz ... you bet!! This company needs to be stopped.

I never EVER thought I would get involved in an online scam especially when that seemed like such a safe way to get my credit report. It seems legitimate and I still don't recall EVER being told about any charges. I hope my input has helped someone ....

I was charged 3 times from this CIC*triple advantage billing on my card, I found this site and then checked out freecreditreport.com, I found out this site was what was charging my account.

the name is misleading, your first credit report is free, and when you sign up, they offer this "free 7-day Triple Advantage Credit Monitoring trial membership for first-time customers." So this mystery charge is what I think is that expired free membership promotional, so to CANCEL your account there site gives the customer care number 1-888-829-6560; if you cancel your account you won't get charged anymore, but they will not give any refunds noted on their website.

hope this helps out some of you guys....

I too got ripped off by these people. Thank god I noticed it for the first charge. I ordered my "free" credit report on 4/14/08 and my credit card was charged on 4/24/08!!! Only 10 days later! So I called the number but they were closed because it was after hours and then called my bank to put A hold on all funds on my credit card. This company is $%#@ terrible scammers! Does anybody know more about this class-action lawsuit against them?

I went to freecreditreport.com and signed up. They asked for A credit card number to verify but specifically said it WILL NOT be charged. It also offered some kind of 7 day free trial credit monitoring product and after that u pay A monthly fee of $14.95. I clicked on the NO THANKS button but apparently that doesn't work!

My complaint is the same as all of the other complaints. This company, CIC Triple Advantage, misleadingly advertises free credit reports.

I also all the above that the other members stated. When I called, they claimed that according to the website there is a no refund. I demanded my refund and asked to speak to a supervisor or another person with high authority. After waiting about twenty seconds (on hold) they said I will be refunded and account cancelled. Those who fell into the trap, please know your right and demand your money back. For a "free" credit report, you must use https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp
