This is Bank of America's compliance office for account holders for things like physical address, citizenship, and so forth (not financial info).  NOTE: I made the call TO this number from a non-suspicious email, and they had adequate proof for me that they were BOA.

Email from "supposed" Bank of America stating they might drill a safety deposit box if I don't give them my birthday, current occupation, and current source of income? Seriously? This seemed pretty suspicious to me so I forwarded it to BoA's abuse email. I don't have a safety deposit box with them but that sure seems like a strange threat to make. Rather unprofessional in fact. I call SCAM on this email. I didn't call the number. Never use numbers in emails. Use the numbers from a company's legitimate website. Don't use links in emails either.

I went to Bank of America.  They told me the number is a scam

The current Scammers are one number off the real one. Just go to the Bank if you're uncertain

Received numerous calls from alleged "Bank of America", no caller ID, requested to call 877-488-7843, "reference control no. 553XXXXXXXX for urgent msg.", Also recd. e-mail & paper mail letter from "BOA" w/request to call same tel. no., same ref. control no., to provide date of birth; w/threat to close account, lock box, don't have either w/BOA. . All are scam attempts, did not respond to any of them.

Suspect a total scam on this.  Even had my name correct.  Scary!!  Received same email.  I am in my account daily and they have NEVER asked where I work or for financial info.
DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS Email or letter etc.

I’ve gotten this email a few times now along with a letter but I have been suspicious since BoA would NEVER ask me to send my SS# through the mail.  It looks just legitimate enough to make people fall for it.   But some of the wording in the email is off.  ALSO BoA always uses the last four numbers of your main acct so that you know it’s them!  None of these communications have had that.   Also why wouldn’t BoA first try sending a message via the online banking platform?  Easiest way to reach their customers these days!  Bottom line this is a very well executed SCAM

I have received two emails and one mail via USPS from someone claiming to be Bank of America wanting me to call them at this number to update my profile. I have called the customer service number on my paperwork (not the number listed in these emails and mail) twice and they informed me that the emails and letter did not come from Bank of America. This appears to be a SCAM.

I already Received a Scam this morning from supposed BOA against me to close my accounts if not update my personal information in 3 weeks, Crazy, BOA never been sent me a letter or emails before direct to my accounts, not cal to that number never 1877-488-7843 call to real customer services number behind the cards and ask them before.

Got direct email directing to this number stating this as BoA. Can not reach the number. Scam. Disgusting!
