Same thing (sorta) happen here. They tryna bill me for months of landline service for a dead disconnected line on a account that I cancelled years ago via phone call because I switched to Xfinity. They claim they have no formal record of me canceling despite billing statements showing zero landline activity for those months plus I returned their gateway & hardware. It's like a lawyer is needed to quit service with them.

That person posted here in 2016 and will certainly never see your reply.  You should have kept on reading because I see there are posts here on how to stop the calls without having to go to a lawyer first.
