These people called me Wednesday saying I owe for a payday loan back in 2007 for $600.00. I asked him to send me the information. I searched for the court summons in my town and there was nothing there. These people had me really upset. My fiance is not happy.

I received a vm today from a man saying he would be coming to serve me with a subpeona either this evening or tomorrow morning.  He went on to say that this was in reference to and stated my name and the last 4 of my ssn.  He told me I could call 1-877-498-1496 and ask for Aaron Green and referenced a case number if I wanted details.  Oh, and he said he had the subpeona on his desk but couldn't open it legally because it was a civil matter.  Well, if this is regarding a pay day loan I did not pay back then it was at least 7 years ago.  I will not be calling them back and am so glad I googled the number to see all the others who also received the same call.

I received a call today saying he was Aaron Brooks and he had been hired by CR & Associates / CR Legal Services.. and he needed to get in touch with me to verify my address and or place of Employment to serve me with the court documents.. and left a case # as well.. Altho if you block your number you cant call them back...

I got the same exact call. Woman left her name as Angela Bowles making a "curtesy call" and that I needed to be available when she pays me a visit at my residence! When I called the number back the recording says it is Check & Credit Reporting Inc. didn't talk to anyone, just hung up. All I can say is, she better be careful who's property she trespasses on!!! I pay my bills and she can blow her nose on this so called Notice of Intent.

Recieved "courtesy call" bout being served, i asked who does that? Warn me bout being served. Politely said they do. I asked him what state they where in, responce ny. Asked if attorney in ny could sue me since i was in another state. Proceeded to ask what will happen if i dont pay? Said that would b up to the attorneys they have in ny. I politely asked if an attorney licensed in ny could practice law in another state. Mr Ronald said under circumstances yes, so i politely reminded him that an attorney not licensed to practice law can not practice law in a state he isnt licensed inwith the bar in my state and told him i work at attorneys office and wud like to speak to his attorney, we got disconnected?! How rude, lol! Dont fall for this type of b.s. People, any1 who is gonna sue u will ever give u a chance to build a defense, they will jus catch u off guard. Silly rabbit, tricks r for kids, lol

Typically what happens is these companies change their name n aliases. Chances r, its same people. Same bowl of sh#t, jus a different smell! Laugh n tellem 2 go for it!

Received a phone call wanting to update personal information because there was a summons going to be issued and they wanted to confirm my address.  Woman said she was calling from the "Legal Department."  This company CCI Legal Services is supposedly an International collection company.  I just pulled my credit report and there is no delinquent information on the report  This company is a scam and needs to be stopped.

I swear your story is verbatim the exact story I have.  The unknown # called me 2 times and when I finally answered this guy tells me he is going to be serving me with a summons due to me having a bad check from a pay day loan company on 7/7/2006.  He could not give me any information and gave me this # 18774981496 to call.  I call CR Legal and this guy Steve tells me that in 2006 I got a pay day loan for over $500.00 and the check bounced when I did not pay.  He wanted to confirm the last 4 of my SSN for verification...something he should already have.  I then advised him that I have never taken a pay day loan from this alleged payday loan company and in fact if I had a hot check I would already be in jail because I have been to court at least 3 times in THAT SAME COUNTY. I played along and offered to give him my address and go to the courts in my city to request change of venue and he didn't want my address...really??? What type of company calls you to let you know you are being summoned, doesn't confirm your address and when you try to give it to them they won't take it.  Then this guy says I should receive the summons within 48 hrs...Never heard of a court who lets you pre-plan to be charged with fraud lol.  I was at work so I freaked but after reading these blogs I laughed because I had been had!  Thanks guys and gals...Someone is about to get cursed out at CR legal...right now!!!!

Got the same call today said he was Micheal Banks and got a work order to serve me at my home but needed to validate my address so he could serve me. Also said i would need Government issued ID to sign for my papers. Called number back but box was full and couldn't leave a message.

What morons these scammers are!  If they really were going to serve you they would  1. already have your address, and  2.  would not give you advance notice!  I would not recommend talking to them again, but if you do, demand their mailing address so that you can certified-mail them either a debt validation demand letter, or a cease-communication letter.  I'll bet they won't give you their address.  Also, do not give them any personal info.  It is not up to you to aid them in their skip-tracing efforts.

SAME thing happened to me today!!!!

I recieved a call from this company and they should be in trouble for the [***] they do. They claim to be attorney's and your debt is past collections and you owe a full amount now. I think it is wrong that they can scare people and say that you owe  a certain amount of money now or you will be served next day and that i am facing felony charges and will have to face a judge. All day i was wondering what the hell and worried about it until i got home and talked to my husband and he checked everything out and let me know it's a huge scam, and a bunch of [***]!!!!!! Dont pay them anything and if you get a call from this company tell them your lawyer is going to contact them if they contact you again, ( even if you dont have one) cause what they are doing is or should be illegal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just received a call from 15ca6a9aaba5, a dude named Harper left a message saying to call back 1877-498-1496 saying there was a complaint against me. what a crock of [***]..He did not give a company name just that it was legal documents that need to be served.

Had the same call with the same threats. I've never had a pay day loan but they had an old bank name, my full name, last 4 of social and old address and employers. I have them no info and called the FTC to file a report. She said people are getting hit with payday loan scams and they FTC is having a hard time shutting them down because they cannot locate them. Anyone can obtain a US phone number through magic jack or Internet. She said protect your info, file a repot and give them no new info or any $.

Any questions or concerns you may have, you may call the Claims Office directly at (877)498-1496, you can refer to case # ---- when calling in, otherwise I will be out to see you as soon as possible, please make yourself available with a valid form of ID for identifying purposes.
