I got the text a few mins ago and decided to check online and yep, it's a scam!

Mine came at 2:38 14 Oct 09

I just got an alert from NETSPEND that read "Your Card has been Deactivated. Please contact us at 877-498-5544 to Activate your Card."

Thanks to this blog I have avoided trouble ahead.

My work actually sent out an advisory email on this because most of our company was hit, as well.  Area code here is 702 (Las Vegas).  I received the text at 7:30pm on 10/13.

Just got it... OBVIOUS scam.

Just got the same text message everyone else is reporting...it came from 1243 and said it was from NETSPEND.

I just got this message also...tg I always check here first to see if this is legit or not!!!

Reporting this Monday morning....obviously a scam.

I called just to see what it said...and it immediately asks for your debit card #....ya right.

It's interesting the call back # is local to my area (781)
