I rsvd a call from 877-499-1966 and the voice mail said I had an important message to call the united illuminating company...

Am guessing from their name that UIC may offer to come out and give you a free energy audit of your home. It's a sales call to convince you to buy their expensive fluorescents that costs many times than what your local Home Depot will charge.

Received a call on March 27 2014 @ 10:12AM  from 877-499-1966.  Caller ID  -Toll Free Caller -…  Message on Voice Mail  “At United Illuminating we are committed to insuring your privacy is protected. Before you can listen to this message, we need to verify we are speaking with our customer of record. Our records indicate the last 4 digits of your telephone number are, _ _ _ _ if this is correct please press 1.  If you are not the UI customer of record, but can take a message please press 2 now.    If you need a moment to bring the customer of record to the phone or to place the call on hold please press 3 now.”

I WILL NOT CALL BACK !!!

It's UI/Electric Co and its a warning that I have a shut off notice :(   I better pay or...well, you know!

This is a scam. I spoke to the UI
These people have recorded UI Reps messages so they are actual voices of UI employees but then when you give them your payment they steal your money. People are getting scammed by the hundreds with these calls. Pay online or call number on your bill.
