- Lewis| 2 repliesReceived call this morning from a lady named “Lisa” no last name, no caller id, no name of business, but left a case # and if I don’t call by today, they will take further action and visit my job, or home, to bring me paperwork. Also, if I didn’t respond today, “they” would make “decisions” how they see fit.
Scam....- Caller: 8774996503
- keith replies to Lewissame thing happened to me too, today. is this a scam?
- drI received a call on 9_17_20 Was given this # to call back on, as well as a file #. Said a civil complaint was against me. Stated if I did not call they would be forced to make a decision without my consent. Also, there was no number that appeared on caller id. They never stated a business name during the call.
- Caller: Not shown or stated
- *Voicemail on 9/21/2020 - Same scam as above. Had my maiden name and address, deliberately spoke quickly and garbled her words claiming to be someone named "Andrea, a clerk from Process Service Dispatch out of" my county - there is no such entity and they certainly wouldn't call on the phone to warn you before they show up! No caller ID, said a complaint was filed against me with a fake file number threatening that if I don't call them back legal filings will proceed and a decision will be made without my participation.
- Caller: "County Process Service Dispatch"

- Theresa replies to LewisI got the same call today - looked up the phone # and nothing. Looked up the case # and can't find it. Did you call them back? Any info would be great.
- DeborahSame as above. Guy named Luis gave a case number and said a civil complaint was against me. Stated if I did not call they would be forced to make a decision without my consent. Also, there was no number that appeared on caller id. It just came up “unknown “ They never stated a business name during the call. He did state my first and last name.
- Caller: 877-499-6503
- CaitlinSame as above. Got a voicemail from an “unknown number,” a voice named Luis said a civil or legal case was being filed against me, although the name he said was my mothers name. He left the 877-499-6503 number to call back as well as a case number. I called the number and it went straight to voicemail. No name of the “law office”, no last name. Definitely a scam.

- Jack| 1 replyCaller left a message with my wife's mother, father, and brother stating that a civil suit had been filed against her. While this already felt like a scam, I did my due diligence and contacted them. The guy I spoke to identified himself as in "Legal Services" and claimed that we owed over $1000 on a credit card from 2006. He stated that she was being served a cease and desist order, and is now being sued for nonpayment and damages. He did say that he could "put the case on hold" if we could arrange a payment by the end of the week. This is when I knew it was a scam. Lawsuits are not settled over the phone with an immediate payment. My wife and I are pretty diligent in our record keeping, and we did find some documentation for the account in question showing that it was paid in full. When I called back, I spoke to someone else who seemd irked when I asked to whom am I speaking. He eventually identified himself as "Joseph" from "Abner and Associates". He transfered me back to the guy I spoke to earlier, and when I told him I had documentation backing up that I owe nothing, he said something about it "being a mistake" and they'll update their records. He did ask me to send him a copy of the documentation, and provided a gmail.com email address. Because as anyone knows, a law firm is definitely using Gmail for their corporate email. The alarming thing about this is the amount of information they had on my wife's family. Former and current addresses, phone numbers, account numbers, last four of her social. If you get a call like this, do not take it at face value. Do not buy into their scare tactics. Ask them for written documentation. - SamA Marley Diaz from Process Service Dispatch called from an unknown number and left a voicemail, requesting to speak to my mother who is not at my number or living with me. She stated my mother's full name and address regarding "a complaint trying to be filed against (my mother) in (her) county". Marley stated a case # and this phone number to call back on. After reading similar reports, I conclude this must be a scam.

- Dawn replies to JackSame thing here. Same law firm, but I am pretty sure its not the actual law firm. They have my full name and ss number and also called relatives in another state about me. Said it was from some unpaid visa from years ago. I told her she was a scam and she hung up on me. I wish somebody could bust these people.
- Dawn OThey called from a blocked number and said I had a civil case case that nedded imediate attention. They left an 877 number along with a case number. I called them back on the number they left , it sounded like a regular office. The lady said they were with Abner and Associates. Said I had a visa card that I never paid on. I got into an argument with her because I told her she was scamming me. She hung up on me. Does anyone know how these people can be caught and prosecuted. I am pretty sure the number is a land line and they have more than 1 person involved. She knew my full name and ss#. I think they were in the USA . There has to be a way to catch these guys.

- TammySame thing happened to me yesterday, on my birthday, no less. These people have no regard for others at all. They told me Chase is suing me for a Mastercard from about 15 years ago that I never paid. I told her that I've never had a Chase Mastercard, and she proceeded to say, "well, where would you like your documents served to you at, home or at your job? So you can read through and decide what you will do when you go to court." I said "I just told you that I've never had a Chase Mastercard!" And she said, "Again where would you like your papers served to you at, home or work?" She royally pissed me off. I said "I don't want the papers and I'm not going to court, because y'all are a scam!" And she said "Don't believe everything you read on Google." Oh Wow. I'm done. They better leave me alone.

- JoseThe same tactics as above: received voicemail from Andrea with case number and stating that a civil processor had been at my house to serve me court papers, and to call back immediately for me not to miss the court date.
