I actually received a TEXT from some other number stating they were ERG and "opening an investigation pertaining SMITH, JANE to verify location information and to call the issuer at 888-718-3214".

First, I have been a SMITH in over 12 years and have zero legitimate debt from that time under that name.    Back in 2005 I did have a payday loan but it was completely paid off via direct debt from my bank account.  No issues.
So no, I will not be calling back or responding in any way.

Left voicemail.  Robocaller claims to be calling from AT&T/Directv about an account but I don't have an account with them.  Left a call back number of 866-781-0315.
