Fake Capital One caller. I won a disputed charge from a Chinese knock-off product. Capital One ruled in my favor and refunded the funds from the charge back to me. The guy who called from this number claimed to be from Capital One and said my charge back was now reversed and I should log on and cancel the disputed amount.

The caller from this number is a scammer - not Capital One.

Same thing received message, called Capital One they told me the call was from the Dispute team at Capital One. The way they asked for my information drew red flags, full card number, full social security number, refused to give that info.  Called and then was transferred back to the Capital One dispute team and they assisted with my dispute. No employee should have access to full social security number and for the card number the last 4 digits should suffice for the account from the number you use for your Capital One account.

Yes, they just called me and said they were Capital One darn & I was stupid enough to give out personal information. I am going to block all the credit reports

I got a call for someone claiming to be from Capital One Dispute Department. She asked me a lot of questions that I thought she should already know, but I gave her my card number anyway. After that, I got nervous and hung up. I'm on the phone with Capital One representative right now. They did confirm that Disputes called earlier and left a message.

I did the exact thing as RL. I called the number on the back of my cc and was told the call was legit. With all the scams going around, its hard to know what is real/safe.

If you already know who called you, why would you look up the phone number?

Its Capital One ! They emailed me as I was talking to them in reference to a dispute. They ask for credit card number and social.

         I also received a phone call and voicemail message from 877-539-1136. Called Capital One at number on my card and was told they have nothing to talk to me about. Which is correct, as I have no outstanding "important matters" with CapOne.
         The voicemail voice had either a Russian or a Mexican accent. I speculate CapOne is using an outside call center that hires new immigrants (legal or not), gives them poor training and a skunky computer system to work with and so they are all FUBAR.
         The people who answer the CapOne numbers and those who call out probably never talk to each other and don't know what they're doing anyway. If you are unaware of any reason why CapOne should be calling you,
         I would suggest just ignoring calls from this number. Definitely dont call back and give them any personal information over the phone; when that call center employee leaves the call center employment he may take all that info with him/her. Deal by regular mail or messages inside your online account, never by phone.

It doesn't reverse back to that company.  I'm guessing that criminal debt collectors are unhappy with that firm so you are spreading lies.  Not on this site.  Say hello to your new screen name which will be "post pending moderator approval" as soon as the mods get here.
