My mom doesn’t speak English that well, so as I was checking her missed called I noticed one had left a voicemail. Said smth about how my dad had a complaint against him and that if we don’t respond within 24hrs he would get called to court yadda yadda. So once I translated this info to them, of course they were in pure panic mode!!! I called the number back that they gave me (dumb i know) and let me just say... that entire call gave me the nerves. The guy, who is now identified as Justin Morrison, was demanding that my dad pay off his debt from an old mastercard. I was confused, but my dad did say he remembers owning a card back when he was an old partner. Naturally, again this sent my parents into pure panic mode. But the guy was demanding us to pay about $4000!!!! when my mom refused and asked if we could do payments, he said we could but we still had to pay $500!!! again, my mom asked if there was an address we could send a check or money order to and he completely refused to give us an address (red flag!!!!) so we gave him a bs excuse, and now he called me back once more saying he’s from “Nelson Acquisitions Group” which isn’t even a real company!!! (it is, just has nothing to do with debt collecting/credit card payments). and now he’s calling me from a local area number, when he used to call me from the number mentioned above ^^^^

When i asked him what company he was calling from, he completely dodged the question and claimed there were a bunch of branches (california, pennsylvania, etc) so he couldn’t give me a name (another red flag)!!!

What made it so believable was that he had my dad’s entire information, and he specifically had a date from when my dad DID own this card.

Pls do not give these ppl any sort of payment information!!!! Ignore them, which is what my parents and I will be doing.
