I got a TEXT message saying to call this number back, about a job I applied for is it a scam?

I actually just got the same text message regarding a job I had applied for. When I called back, a female named Britany answered and asked me a few questions regarding my education and work background. She said she was going to email me the next part of my application. I honestly don't know if it's a scam or not.

I got this same message regarding a job. I may or may not have applied for this position,but never the less I don't believe this is a real opportunity.

Just got a text from number 3124422716 about a job application.  I have been applying lately, but this is a text and on a Saturday so I am doubting it's authenticity.  It gives this number to call back...8775639612

I got a call from 404-783-3988 about a position they say i applied for saying call back the 877-563-9612 number. I totally believe it's a scam!

I've been on the job hunt lately. But they didn't contact me - a number text-messages two of my references, but not myself. Maybe it is a machine picking the phone numbers out of resumes?
If they follow up with an e-mail, please follow up with us on here so I know if it's worth calling back!

Hi Larry, I just reviewed your application for the Labor position you applied for. Please call me at 877-563-9612.

***Now this is what gets me...there is no name telling me who it's from...why should I call it so they can end up making international calls on my phone? Thanks for the input we need this and craigslist needs to crack down on the job scams it is annoying.***

Monica, I don't believe this is an actual opportunity or it's one of those places that runs a "get rich quick" sales scheme thing.  The message I recieved was as follows:

Hi Stephanie, I just reviewed your application for the Administrative position you applied for.  Please call me at 877-563-9612.

And a reverse number search turns up nothing...  I also did a search on phone detective and it does not come up with anything and Mr Number has it listed as a scam.

I just received the same text from 1-312-422-2716, but for a school security position I applied for around the 1st of May.  Will follow up when I get in touch with an actual person. Surely it is a scam though!

When I finally reached someone at the number they started out with they stated, "This is The Employer Network (All over the net as an existing company), you have been asked to contact us because you have recently applied for a position with one of our companies." They asked for my contact information, which was the phone number on the resume I sent in (They stated the number and asked if this was a good number to contact), then asked when was a good time for the employer to contact me back. I kept holding on to try and get the employer information so I could contact them as see if this company actually existed, but they never gave it to me. They had my e-mail information and said they were going to send me a link to fill out the employer app and send it back.  FUNNY THING, when I typed in the 877 number, a company came up by the name of Citizens Energy Heat Assistance Programs. I don't know if this is an old number that they purchased or what. Trying so hard to find out because if this is a new type of scam where they are trying to take advantage of the unemployed, I would love to report them and spread the news. I'm sick of all the scams that you have to deal with when searching for jobs! AT THE END OF THE CONVERSATION, SHE TOLD ME I WAS REGISTERED TO PARTICIPATE IN A SURVEY WITH OFFERS, SO I AM ASSUMING THIS IS WHERE THE SCAM COMES IN. I GUESS THEY GET YOU TO SPEND MONEY WHILE YOU REGISTER FOR OFFERS!

I also applied for an opening position (reading tutor) on craigslist and received the same text message. Please keep us posted on here if you find out it's a scam. I can't imagine a legit employer would text message rather than email or call.

I got a message from the same number (877 563 9612) at 11 37 am to day 5 9 11
Saying  hi Jason i just reviewed your application for a patrolling officer job position you applied for please call me back asap .
I called the number someone named Barry answered  the phone no last name asked if this was Jason  then told me he was from a staffing agency and wanted me to take 20 mins to answer question to verify some info about myself ssn and dob stuff like that I told them I did apply and if I did he'd have the info , When I asked to speak to a supervisor the hung up

I rec'd a text msg today from 312-442-2716 it says they reviewed your application for Receptionist position you applied for, please call me at 877-563-9613. I have been looking at Craigslist and sending my resume, After reading some of the posts on here, am wondering if we are all part of a scam that they post on Craigslist. I didnt call back the #. Think I will wait till late and see if they have a machine or something. Will update if I heard anything else.
