verizon fios calling to confirm an install

I received a call from this number to confirm an installation that I never ordered. Don't know what they are up to. The real Verizon Fios has no such order.

My family said verizon called to confirm triple play installation. They called again from this number and just hung up. I called them back and they said my name and address show up for installation. He said he would cancel and put me in touch with somebody to carry cancellation through. I waited then just hung up. I called the real verizon 800-837-4966 spoke to Ms Haily who said they have no record of an order. I would not suggest anyone open their door to any one who shows from this 877 number.

I got a call from this number earlier and I didn't pick it up.  I then read these comments, so I answered wary of a scam.  It's a pre-recorded message verifying a Fios install.  The information it had was correct.  It did not ask me for any additional information (which I imagine they would if it was a scam).  They had my order number and details on how many boxes, the time window, etc.  All I had to do was push 1 to verify or 2 to reschedule.  Then it went through what needed to be there when they came.   SO if it was a scam, I didn't give them any information than they already know, and it would be a MAJOR information leak and privacy issue.  SO I'm guessing that for those people who got incorrect phone calls that they had a problem with calling the wrong number or something...  I THINK this is legit.

This is a legit call. Confirmation of fios installation. it is all done by phone number so if you got a call they got phone number wrong for someone else. If you didn't order, I would call the toll free number and push key for customer service when they offer it. It is legit and you need to get your number off they're list if you didn't order.

This is not a legit call.  We did not request FIOS installation.  Verizon had no record of us asking for installation.  Be careful you don't see a charge for using the 877 number on your phone bill.

These morons have called me 7 times today. I dont even have Fios where I live. They need to cut the crap.

I did not call to have a Fios installation.  Furthermore, my phone number is listed on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY, and they shouldn't be calling me in the first place.

As of May 1st, 2014 this number belongs to Entergy Corporation, and the call was an automated call responding to damage from an E4 tornado in the area. The message contained information about outages and repairs. We received the first call at 4:06 p.m., and were not home to answer; the second call came a half hour later.

"This is Entergy with an important update regarding power restoration following our recent storms.  Please call us back at 877-569-0850."

REPEATED calls, I did not answer!

Got a call from this number - message was from Entergy to give us tips on using less electricity.

Entergy with a stupid hot weather alert about raising the thermostat and installing fans (it's August in the south  so I guess it has not been hot for the past two months).  

Was a call from Entergy with tips on how to lower electricity bill.
